Phil sighed as he let his homework fall out of his grasp onto his desk. It was requiring too much of his attention, when it should be placed somewhere else.

Phil glanced at his camera, which was also sitting on his desk. Technically, he didn't have any photography assignments to do, therefore, he shouldn't be worrying about it.

But he couldn't resist it. Not when his favorite subject was so close.

His roommate and boyfriend Dan Howell was his favorite thing to capture. Maybe you could say it was because Phil adored him completely, but Dan was aesthetically pleasing, in any way you looked at it.

Phil looked over at his boyfriend with a smile. "Are you busy?"

Dan looked over at him, with an eagerness in his eyes, and a wide smile. "Nope!" He giggled.

Though, Dan was lying in a sense. He had a lot of coursework to do, but he absolutely loved it when Phil took pictures of him. Phil just looked professional working behind the camera, and Dan always appreciated it when Phil spewed out compliments between each snap of a photo.

Phil grabbed his camera and gestured to the stool that was placed by the window. "Sit down, love, we're going for a casual picture today."

Dan pushed his belongings onto his bed and went over and sat on the stool, looking out the window, seeing the dark night sky. "Wow, it looks so pretty right now," Dan murmured in awe.

"So do you," Phil said offhandedly, looking around their room to see if things could be incorporated into the picture. Dan's cheeks went pink at the casual compliment.

Dan used to be very shy. He would dismiss most compliments, and he would feel insecure around most people. But Phil almost took it as his mission to build Dan's confidence, and it shows in the photos.

In the beginning photos, Dan wouldn't even look at the camera, too embarrassed about it. This has changed, of course.

Phil shuffled over to the light switch and turned it off, leaving the room in complete darkness. "Just hold on," he declared, slowly making his way over to  the lamp on his bed's nightstand. He turned it on, and looked around the room, approving the lighting.

"What should I do for the photo?" Dan asked quietly, still glancing out the window.

Phil observed him fondly. "Just stay like that, love. You look great."

Dan giggled quietly, and Phil slowly moved around, taking pictures as his angle changed. "Alright, look at the camera please," Phil directed.

Dan turned his body so he was facing him. He smiled at the camera. "Looks great," Phil commented, as he snapped some pictures. "Next few you can do whatever you want."

Dan held up a peace sign, as Phil predicted him to do. "Really?" Phil asked with a laugh.

"Peace is important," Dan justified with a shrug. "People should be able to live however they want."

Phil hummed. "Yeah, I agree."

He took a few more pictures of Dan being a goofball, and he eventually placed his camera back down on his desk. He'd check over the pictures later.

"Thanks for this, Dan." Phil beamed at his boyfriend. "I love taking pictures of you."

"I know," Dan said. "But it's okay. I love posing for you."

Phil smiled.

And maybe they both had to go back to doing boring work, but their moods were greatly improved.
