(Y/N) POVI wanted to know. I wanted to know what had happened to Eragon when he found Saphira and started to travel as a Dragonrider with Brom. When I looked in his brown eyes they were filled with light, but you could also see deep sadness in them too. I wanted to make them happy, I wanted to see them glow. He had his eybrows often furrowed together.
I widened my eyes when I realised that it was actually true, my dreams had gone true, I had become a Dragonrider. "(Y/N)? (Y/N)?!" I made a little jump when I realised that someone was talking to me. "(Y/N) I think that you should stop having your eyes like that, otherwise they'll probably fall out of your skull." I just stared at him. Did Eragon make a joke or was he speaking the truth? I'd rather not prefer the second one. All of a sudden I heard his laugh. It was so warm and full of happiness and his smile was so bright and lovely that I just had to smile as well. I let out a small giggle since I now understood that he was just joking.At the campfire, we had actually caught some meat thanks to Saphira and Vladmir's anosmia. As we sat there eating I wondered what Brom actually had done in the same village as Eragon. "Brom, what did you work as in Carvahall?" His head shot up like he had never heard anyone talk in centuries. "Me? Oh, I was doing some storytelling here and there for the children about different things, sometimes even Dragonriders." "What?! Can't you tell one of the stories?" He gave a look to Eragon and then nodded. "Well, I can't see why not. Well then." His sharp voice filled the emptiness of the silent night. "Before your grandparents ancestors were born, even before their ancestors we're, the Dragonriders were formed. Their mission was to protect and defend, and they succeeded with that for thousands of years. Their bravery in battle were without counterpart, each one of them owned the strength of ten men. If they did not succumb to poison or sword they were immortal. Their powers were only used for good cause, and under their protection big cities and towers of the living stone were built. The country flourished as long as they kept the peace. It was a golden age. The elves were our allies, the dwarfs were our friends.
The prosperity flowed in our cities and it was good times for everybody. Yet you must complain ... for that matter it could not be. Even if no enemy could defeat them, they could not defend against themselves. And that happened, when they stood at the top of their power, that the province Inzilbêth, that no longer exists, were a boy names Galbatorix born. By the age of ten he was tested and it was discovered that the boy owned big powers. The Riders took him in as one of their own. He went through their education and surpassed everybody else in skill. He was talented with an awake mind and strong body and soon got a place in the line of Riders. Some realised the danger in his sudden arise and they warned the others, but the Riders power had made them arrogant and they forgot to be on guard. That day is just full of sorrow.
And then it came that Galbatorix after fulfilled training left on a venturesome journey together with two friends. They flew a long way north for day and nights, until they entered into the area that remained if the kingdom of the urgals, in the foolish believe that their new powers would protect them. There, on the thick ice that did not melt even in the summer, they got into an ambush while sleeping. Galbatorix killed his attackers, even although his friends and their dragons were slaughtered and he himself got really bad wounds. But during the fight his dragons heart got pierced by an obscured arrow. She died in his arms, in lack if healing. Then the seed of madness was sown." Now everybody was listening carefully to Broms story and I could feel that it made Vladmir really uncomfortable. "Alone, deprived on most of his power and half mad due to the sorrow Galbatorix wandered without hope through the deserted land to seek the death. He didn't find it, no matter how boldly he attacked every living creature. The urgals and other monster soon feared his haunted shape. During this time he realised that the Riders may allow him a new dragon. Guided by this thought he began his dangerous journey back through the Spine by foot. It took him months to cross places that he carefreely had flown over on the dragon back. He could hunt with the help of magic, but he often travelled where no animal put their foot. He was close to death when he finally leaved the mountains behind him. Exhausted he sank down in the mud and got founded by a farmer that called on the Riders. Uncounsious he was moved to their base, where his body healed. He slept for four days. His fevery counsiousnes didnt recognise anything when he woke up. When he was transferred before the council that had been convened to judge him, Galbatorix required a new dragon. They doubted in his want and exposed his mind-confuseness, and the council saw him for what he was. When Galbatorix got his hope stolen he was led through the twisted mirror of madness that it was the Riders fault that his dragon had died. Night after night he thought this and he started to work on a plan to get his revenge." I felt the sadness coming from Vladmir while he said to me;
'It's a shame that a Rider and their dragons fate had to end like that.' I looked into the fire, but it gave no comfort to the sad story. "He found a friendly Rider that his sinister words could plant themselves into. Through using urgent reasons and the dark secrets that a Shade told him Galbatorix succeeded to incite the Rider towards his elder and superiors. Together they laid in an ambush towards one of the elders and killed him. When the murder was done Galbatorix turned towards his companion and killed him. The Riders found him with the blood dripping from his hands. A cry left his lips and he escaped into the night. They didn't get him, because he was sly in his madness.
For years he was hidden in the wilderness like a wild beast, always on his guard against persecutors. His evil deed did not fall into forgetness, but through the years the searching got lesser. Then a bad destiny wanted him to meet the young Rider Morzan - strong to the body but weak in the mind. Galbatorix persuaded Morzan to leave one gate unmatched to The castle Iliria, the one now called Urû'baen. Through this gate Galbatorix sneaked in and stole a new hatched dragon." "And, what happened next?" I wanted to know the enemy, how they were thinking and how their background was, so that I could find a weakness. "I think that is enough for tonight (Y/N), you wouldn't want to get nightmares, right?" Both Saphira and Vladmir rumbled in agreement. It was now that I started to see that the sky had grown from a darker, beautiful shade of red to the mystical black night with the moon and the stars out. "Fine, but you have to promise me to tell the rest of the story tomorrow." Brom let out a warm laugh, like if he was pleased with my answer. "I promise you that you will hear the rest of the story someday." And with that, we all went to sleep. Well, not everyone.
'(Y/N)? (Y/N)?! Are you awake?''You didn't even give me the chance to sleep Vladmir..., what do you want? '
'Look at the sky, isn't it pretty?' I looked up, and true to his words; the sky was gorgeous. Everywhere you looked there was starts twinkling everywhere. 'Wouldn't it be nice if dragons got their own star sign?'
'Why don't we find it by ourselves when all of this is over?'
'That sounds like a marvellous idea, I am proud you could think that far Human'
'Hey! I can think, and what's with that "human"? Is that my nickname?'
'Well, I didn't plan it to be, but now I have decided with my wide intelligence that I have decided to give you that nickname.' After that, Vladmir let out a huge yawn whit his mouth wide and then just sank into a pile of comfortness, which looked pretty funny afterwards because he had just went from a dragon with teeths like daggers, to a big pile of rocks.
'Good night Vladmir.''Good night Human.'
