(Y/N) POVWe sat by the fire and waited for Eragon to wake up. And by we, I mean Saphira, me and Murtagh. He saved us from getting killed and moved to the king. We hadn't really spoken at all. Saphira had shut me out from her mind so it wasn't any idea to try and talk to her. So I had mostly talked to Vladmir. I had found out that Vladmir wasn't that far away but was disguised as a rock a little bit away. When he had showed me where he was I had looked over and first didn't realise at all that it was him. My dragon is smart. I heard movements to the left of me, were Saphira was and I saw Eragon sitting up on his knees. He looked over to Murtagh first and then to me. He looked over to Murtagh and then started to speak. "Who are you?" he asked. I saw his grasp on his bow tighten. "Murtagh", he answered lowly. Eragon dragged his hands under his legs so they were in front of him. "Why did you help us?" he asked. "You're not the only ones who are enemies of the ra'zacs. I was following their tracks." "Do you know who they are?" "Yes." Eragon then sat and looked at the rope and then used magic. "Jierda!" he said and the ropes flew apart. I heard Murtagh gasp but that was normal for me. Eragon tried to stand up, but he started to fall backwards. I jolted up in an attempt to try and help him before he hit the ground but Saphira started growling really loud. I flinched at her behaviour as Eragon fell to the ground. "We would've helped you earlier, but your dragon didn't let us get close to you." Murtagh explained. Eragon glared at Saphira and then started to speak. "Her name is Saphira." After a few seconds Saphira started to growl again but now she moved away her wings and backed away. I stepped forward and pulled Eragon up as Murtagh held him so he could stand steadily. We went forward to the fire where we had put Brom. "How is he?" Eragon asked. "He's bad", I answered. "The dagger went in between his ribs." "You can take a look in a few seconds, but we first have to see how badly wounded you are." Murtagh said. When Eragon's shirt was off, Murtagh whistled at the sight of his side. "Ouch!" "Ouch", Eragon agreed. He had a huge bruse that was covering his complete left side. His skin was red and it had open scratches on it. I was holding Eragon as his right arm was over my shoulders, while Murtagh put his hand on the bruise and pushed lightly. Eragon screamed loudly and Saphira growled. Murtagh glanced with a worried look towards Saphira as he reached for a blanket. "I think that you have some broken ribs. It's hard to tell how many it is, but it's probably two, maybe more. You can be happy that you're not coughing blood." He started to tear the blanket apart and started to use it as bandage around Eragon's ribcage. Eragon then put on his shirt again. "Sure... I'm happy." He took a breath and then walked over to Brom. I sat by the fire again as I saw Eragon starting to undo the bandages. "Eragon you shouldn't do that." Eragon gave me a questioning look. "If you do that he'll bleed to death", Murtagh said. Eragon ignored us and kept going. After a few seconds I saw him pull of his glove and Saphira moved up beside him. Eragon closed his eyes and then opened them again. "Waíse heill!" he said. The palm of his hand started to shine as he said those words. Brom's wound healed and when Eragon was done he sat himself back on the ground. Murtagh stepped forward and looked at the wound that wasn't there anymore. "Is it completely healed?" he asked. "I can only heal the outside. What I know isnt enough to fix what's on the inside, whatever it is. Now it's up to him. I have done everything I can." Eragon closed his eyes after that and he looked really tired. "It... it feels like my head is in the clouds." "You probably need to eat... both of you", Murtagh said. "I will cook soup." He started to cook as we got to sit in silence.
'Are you sure that you don't want to come here Vladmir?''I'm sure.'
'Aren't you lonely where you are?'
'No, because I'll always have you.' I was pulled out of my thoughts as Murtagh offered me a bowl of soup. I took it with my hand and gave him a smile, which was not returned. As we are, Eragon started to speak. "How much time has passed since the ra'zacs escaped?" "A few hours." "We need to leave before they return with reinforcements." "The two of you can probably handle to travel", Murtagh said and then pointed towards Brom, "but he can't. You can't just jump back on the saddle when you got stabbed with a dagger between the ribs." Eragon looked deep in thought for a few seconds until he started to speak again. "Saphira can carry him, but we need some form of stretcher to carry him on. Can you make one? I can't do it as I am right now." "Wait here." Murtagh answered as he left the camp.
'How are you over there Vladmir?''I am good. You're not hurt after what happened, right?'
'I'm fine. We will talk more later, alright?'
'Yes, farewell. I love you.'
'I love you too. Good bye.' I saw that Murtagh was back in the camp and had already put Brom on the stretcher. Saphira grabbed him and lifted carefully from the ground. "I never thought that I would see anything like this", Murtagh said. As I saw Eragon starting to move slowly towards Cadoc I walked over to Snowfire and sat up in his saddle. "Thank you for helping us. You should leave now. Ride as far away from us as you can. If the Empire find you with us you will be in danger. We can't protect you, and I don't want you to get hurt because of us." "Well spoken", Murtagh said as he put out the fire, "but where will you go? Is there a place somewhere where you can rest in safety?" "No", Eragon admitted. Murtagh fiddled with the end of his sword and a look in his eyes that I couldn't describe. "Then I think I'll be your company until you are out of danger. I have nothing better to do. And I may even get a second chance against the ra'zacs faster than I would on my own. Interesting things always happens close to a Rider." I saw a look of hesitation coming from Eragon.
