(Y/N) POVWe kept on travelling. We switched one last time before we were at the Varden so that I rode on Saphira and Eragon on Snowfire.
By nightfall the urgals had came one third closer than the morning. In this speed they would be upon us very soon. Eragon sometimes forgot the way to the Varden from Arya's memories, which led to me telling him that it was the wrong way. As the night went on we started to look for the valley that would lead us to the Varden, but when midnight came we still hadn't found it.By the time that the sun rose on the sky again we realised that the urgals had lost the distance that they had gained yesterday and they were very far behind. "This is the last day", Eragon said through a yawn. "If we're still not close to the Varden by midnight I'll fly ahead on Saphira with Arya. Then you can go wherever you want, but you'll probably have to bring Snowfire. It's not like I can come back and get him." "Maybe it won't be necessary, we can still make it on time", Murtagh said.
'Should we tell him now?''Not when Murtagh is close...'
'You know that we will have to do it today, or we leave without saying goodbye.'
'I'd rather do the first option...'
'I will miss them.'
'Me too.'
Later on in the morning when we had passed a bigger mountain, Eragon noticed a small valley. It was well disguised in the rest of the mountains and very easy to pass by. Eragon checked with me and to see if we agreed that it was the right path.
While we were flying over the way to the valley Eragon and Murtagh rode into a forest.
When we finally made our way to the entrance it was actually big, it was just the mountains that made it look small. We rode forward. Eragon had been riding on Saphira for hours now as me and Arya were left on Snowfire. Eragon had tried to slow down the urgals with some success. He and Saphira had stopped by the river. The urgals had come closer and closer as the hours had passed, and now we maybe have to fight. We now rode out of the forest to where Eragon and Saphira was waiting for us. Eragon fell into our speed as Murtagh was running with the horses. "I saw how you and Saphira were throwing rocks. Nice try. Have the urgals stopped or turned around?" Murtagh asked. "They're still after us, but we are almost at the end of the valley. How is Arya?" "She's alive", Murtagh answered. I heard Saphira moving above us. "Is there any places for me to get out of here?" Eragon waited a moment to answer his question. "It's dark", he said, "so I could have missed something, but the answer is... no." Murtagh let out curses and stopped. All of us stopped with him. "Are you telling me that there's no way out for me other than the Varden?" "Yes, but just keep running. The urgals are soon upon us!" "No!", Murtagh answered angrily. He pointed his finger towards Eragon. "I warned you that I couldn't come with you to the Varden, but you went on and trapped me with no way out! It was you who had the elf's memories. Why didn't you tell me that it was just a dead end?" Eragon's face expression changed to angry. "I only knew where we were going, not what was in between. Don't blame me that you chose to come along." Murtagh glared at him, turned around and walked away. "What have you done to the Varden? Is it really that terrible that you need to keep it a secret after everything we've been through? Would you rather want to fight against the urgals than tell it? How often do we have to talk about this before you trust us?" Murtagh stayed quiet for a while.
'I don't like this...''Me neither, but let's see where this leads.'
'Alright, but be careful.'
'I will.' "Murtagh", Eragon said seriously, "we have to go to the Varden if you don't want to die. Let us know how they will react when they see you before we blindly walk right into their grasp. It's going to be dangerous enough already without uneccesary surprises." Murtagh turned towards us. He was breathing quickly but not so it was dangerous. When he finally spoke it sounded like he was in pain. "You have the right to know. I... I am Morzan's son, the first and last of the Forsworn."
