(Y/N) POV
It was terrifying. The battle first started with everyone waiting as hour by hour crawled by with no sign of the urgals anywhere. The urgals arrived, but was put down one by one as the Varden threw some kind of oil and made it burn. It was followed by an endless stream of urgals, coming out of all of the three remaining tunnels. As the battle continued, they pushed us back further into the mountain as new enemy soldiers arrived one after another. Urgals, humans and dwarves fell dead to the ground as the smaller battles between groups continued. The bad idea I had was to put on an armour, I was just glad that I didn't put on a heavier one. Through the journey that me and Eragon had gone through while travelling through the country, training with swords and already being pretty good with bows, we had never used armor before. I don't know how well Eragon was doing after all of the hours of waiting in his armor, but I know that mine at least slowed me down and made every move I tried to do almost impossible to get without doing something wrong. If I tried to stab someone to the right, almost falling over. Slashing someone to the left, almost falling over. As exhaustion took over a sodlier one by one, our army of 9000 warriors dropped quickly. I see Saphira up in the air a few times but flew down after a while to continue the fighting. The sound of sword against sword, sword against shield, sword against armor and sword against flesh continued as the battle did. It probably lasted for hours, but it was hard to tell. It wasn't easy keeping track of time while moving from one battle to another. I think it was a good choice to have two swords. I would probably have gotten more wounds if I had chosen to have a shield. Why couldn't Brom have taught us to use a shield as well? I saw earlier that Eragon had one, and couldn't understand why. He didn't know how to use a shield as far as I knew, so it would just slow him down or possibly ending up hurting himself if someone hit it incorrectley. As I continued to move around the battlefield over the hours, with Vladmir giving me strength since I had forbidden him to joining the battle (a decision which he strongly disagreed with), I saw an armored Saphira fly away towards Tronjheim, more urgals streaming through the tunnels and possibly an armored Amgela with a kid - probably Solembum - by her side.
After endless hours of fighting, all of the urgals suddenly stopped. Their eyes were locked upon three black shapes passing by, until they disappeared. Suddenly, all of them turned towards each other and started to attack. If you thought that it was difficult fighting things that were eight feet armored mountains, try to imagine what it was like when they ran into you while trying to fight their own kind. Most of the people that were fighting for the Varden would be left with bruises to last for days just because of it.
As the urgals continued to fight amongst themselves, we drove them back towards where they came from, finally ending the battle under Farthen Dûr.^Hello guys!! Sorry for this being a shorter chapter and not describing the battle itself like it was made in the book, but I thought that I've stuck with Eragon's point of view a lot. If you want to read it his POV, just read the book. Honestly, I just want this book to be over with so that I can start the next one in the series. I'm sorry if you were disappointed with the battle not being as awesome as in the book, but honestly, I had no idea how to do it since the (Y/N) can't just follow Eragon around during the whole battle. The last chapter of this book will probably be posted soon, so you can at least hope for that I guess? See you guys next time!!^
