CHAPTER SEVEN

We arrived at the beach in thirty minutes time. Alex, Nate, and I all jumped out of the car and started running towards the water. The beach was clear today because of the photoshoot, so we had the area all to ourselves.

The camera crew was chasing after us taking pictures as quickly as possible to capture our enthusiasm. Nate and Alex ran into the water without hesitation while I, on the other hand, stopped right at the edge. I’m terrified of the ocean. It’s my biggest fear, I suppose.

“Get in the water Rose!” Nate shouted at me when he saw I wasn’t following them.

“Um, no. I think I’ll stay here. You know, just to be dry and such,” I said to him and I opened the bag I brought to the beach to send a quick text to Jessica to make sure she was up already. It was almost eight in the morning and if Jessica wasn’t up, I knew something had to be wrong. She is a morning person after all.

As I took out my phone, I noticed I already had a text message waiting for me, only it was not from Jessica. It was from Louis.

Louis: Hey I was wondering if you were free this afternoon? We didn’t get to talk much yesterday and you seem very interesting :) xx

I hadn’t even noticed I was smiling until I heard Alex shout “Take her picture she looks happy!”

I didn’t see the harm in hanging out with Louis if we were just hanging out as friends. I didn’t want any drama with his girlfriend. So I sent a reply text to him saying:

Doing a photoshoot now at the beach. I’m free after this. What do you have in mind? :)

I always try to text properly because I don’t see the point in abbreviating everything. I guess you could say I was a grammar nazi when it came to stuff like this. I was glad that Louis didn’t abbreviate every word either. It made him that much more appealing to me.

Although I shouldn't be thinking of him as appealing since he's taken. Rose, control yourself.

A couple seconds after I sent the last text, my phone buzzed with a new message from Louis:

We could go get some lunch. I’ll pick you up. Text me the address and time and I’ll be there.

So I texted him the location of the beach I was at and told him to come by around noon. This photoshoot was, sadly, going to take a while.

Mark started walking towards me to where I was sitting in the sand. He was shouting at Alex and Nate for getting wet because now they had to change their clothes and that would be more time lost. He was proud of me though for not following them into the water, he had no idea I didn’t simply because I have a fear of the ocean.

The boys and I then had to change into our outfits for the album cover. We all matched in a way although my outfit was the most embarrassing of them all.

You have to do what you have to do, I guess.

The photoshoot was finally over. I was not one of those girls that was happy to take pictures, nor was I one of those girls that tried making a big deal about not wanting to take a picture. I just go with the flow.

It was five minutes to twelve when I received a text from Louis telling me that he was here waiting in the parking lot in his car, which I found out was a Porsche. I was major nervous now.

Porsche's are just beautiful. Expensive automobile it was.

“Where are you going Rose?” Nate asked as I was saying goodbye to everyone.
