CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO

“Rose, you look great!” Jessica said happily after I emerged from the bathroom wearing the clothes she brought for me.

I was wearing a pink, blue, and beige striped sweater with jean shorts, beige TOMS, plus a tan beanie with a lace bow on it. I liked the outfit. I felt comfortable in it.

“Thank you,” I said nervously and I clicked my shoes together. I was still super scared about everything. This must all be a weird dream. It doesn’t feel like reality.

“You ready to go Rose?” Ally asked me. I didn’t even notice she was here until all of the men left. Ally, Sabrina, and Andrew were all here. They were always like my second family. I feel closer to Alex’s family than he does I bet.

“Yeah but I’m kind of hungry,” I mumbled as we all walked out of the hospital room.

“Well we were thinking of all going to get something to eat now,” the boy with the curly hair said to us.

“I’m in. Food,” Katherine said dreamily and I gave her a half smile.

“I’m in too,” Jessica nodded to the boys.

“Rose?” Nate asked me.

“I guess so,” I said awkwardly and avoided everyone’s eyes by staring at the ground.

“Let’s head to The Ivy. My favorite restaurant in town,” the boy with the brown hair and brown eyes said and started walking towards the elevator. All of us followed him.

Once we all got out of the elevator, Ally, Andrew, Sabrina, and my dad all bid us farewell and said they were going to their hotel to pack up their belongings. I understood and hugged them all goodbye. Thanking them for coming here as well.

I kind of wished they would have stayed. At least I would have been with more people that I recognize.

“Has Rose ever been to The Ivy?” Nate asked everyone.

“Yes. I took her there once,” Louis answered and I felt his eyes on me. I wasn’t looking but I could feel it. I don’t know how that’s possible.

After, we all started headed for the door when I noticed that there was a ton of paparazzi outside, snapping photos like crazy. I froze immediately. I don’t know why but they terrified me at the moment. I felt like they were trying to hurt me.

“Let’s cover Rose so that the paparazzi don’t attack her,” Jessica suggested and I looked at her gratefully.

Everyone proceeded to create a wall around me and we all walked outside like that. Since I was so short, I couldn’t really see over everyone so I hoped the paparazzi won’t see me. Or hurt me.

We walked all the way into a black van. I ended up being sat in between Alex and Nate. I felt kind of awkward since I don’t know Nate that well. I mean, I like him. I’ve always liked him throughout high school but I’m just not used to this idea of us being friends. It’s still new to me. But he must be used to it.

“So do we have an album out?” I tried making conversation with the two boys next to me.

“We’ve recorded an album but it still has about another week or two until it’s released. We have the album release party next week. If we still go,” Alex answered and trailed off.
