CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE

Three Days Later:

“Did you pack everything?” I asked Jessica for about the thirtieth time that day. We were all at the airport now. It was time to leave Australia and go to New Zealand. Sadly, Jessica and Melissa couldn’t join us so we were riding on different flights.

“Yes I did. Please tell me you’ll be careful in New Zealand. I’ll be back to see you again when you take a break and go to England. I’m going to meet Zayn’s family,” Jessica told me and I nodded.

“I’m going to be fine. I have Danielle and everyone here with me in case something goes wrong. Plus I’ve got my own doctor following me around now,”’ I tried to say reassuringly. Truth be told I didn’t really like the doctor Simon had hired but I didn’t say that to him. I didn’t want to be rude.

“I’ll bring Zenon next time ok? They wouldn’t let me take her on the flight this time because I was a last minute show up. But I’ll plan for next time!”

“Yay!” I said happily.

“Best friend! I forgot to tell you something major important!” Jessica jumped up and down and I looked at her with my eyebrow raised.

“What?” I asked curiously.

“You know that card Nick Jonas sent you?” She asked me excitedly.

“Of course I know. You’ve been keeping it safe right?”

“HE PUT HIS NUMBER IN THE CARD! I was reading it the other day and on the back of the card it says that if you ever needed someone to talk to to call him. And then he left his freaking cell phone number there,” Jessica squealed and I looked at her in shock.

“No way!” I screamed with a smile on my face.

“No way is right. There is no way you are getting that number,” Louis growled as he approached us and wrapped his arm around me.

“Still jealous there huh Louis?” Jessica asked him and he shook his head.

“Yes! He still hasn’t let me open the rest of my gifts. He bought another suitcase and put them all in there to hide from me,” I exclaimed and Jessica laughed.

“You have to let her see them one day Louis. People are probably expecting a thanks from her soon,” she said knowingly.

“I know. Later,” Louis insisted and Jessica and I both sighed.

“Best friend, your stitches are finally dissolving. I’m happy. But I think the one on your forehead is going to leave a scar,” Jessica said as she examined my forehead.

“I know but it’s not terrible. I feel like Harry Potter,” I smiled and Jessica started laughing.

“Right! Too bad it’s across your forehead and not down it like Harry Potter. Then that would have been cool,” she smiled back at me.

“What are you ladies talking about?” Zayn appeared and wrapped an arm around Jessica.

“I take offense to that,” Louis said by my side and Zayn laughed.

“Sorry what are you ladies and Louis talking about?” Zayn amended.

“Thanks,” Louis nodded in approval.

“My scar,” I said and used my only good arm to point to my forehead.

“It’s getting better. Probably one more week and the stitches will have disappeared,” Zayn said thoughtfully and I nodded.
