CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Louis took me to the mall that was located next to the movie theater. We walked from store to store just browsing, not really buying anything.

When we were in Macy’s, I turned to him to point out a ridiculous outfit in the Junior’s section that I saw but he was nowhere to be seen.

“Louis?” I called out. No response.

Ok, this is weird. I reached into my purse and grabbed my Iphone and sent a quick text to Louis asking where he went.

After sending the text to Louis, I started walking around the store hoping to run into him. No such luck. Twenty minutes had past before I felt a hand on my shoulders. I turned around and there he was, looking smug about something.

“Where have you been? I’ve been looking everywhere for you! I was beginning to worry that you either ditched me or you were kidnapped!” I exclaimed.

“I went to get you something,” he smiled at me mischievously.

It was then that I noticed the bag in his hand.

“Oh. Why?” I asked confused.

“Because I wanted to obviously,” he said simply. “Here, open it.”

He handed me the bag and I took it hesitantly. There was a small white box inside and I cautiously picked it up and opened it. Inside was a Pandora bracelet with two charms on it: an owl and a music note.

“Oh my gosh, it’s beautiful. I love it,” I said and smiled up at him.

“Just like you,” he beamed, obviously happy that I loved his gift. “I’m glad you like it. Want me to help you put it on?”

“Yes. Thank you so much,” I said as I held out my hand to him. He put the bracelet on my wrist with ease.

When he was done, I wrapped my arms around him for a hug. He returned the gesture without a moment’s hesitation. When we broke the hug, I got up on my tippy toes and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. I broke away and blushed a little when I looked back into his eyes.

“You remembered I loved owls?” I said looking at my owl charm. It really was beautiful.

“Of course, why wouldn’t I?”

“I don’t know. And the music note is because of...?” I asked him. I had an idea why in my head but I wanted to hear him say why.

“Because music is the reason we know each other. It’s our life now, our career. It’s what we do,” he said simply.

“Awh, that’s sweet. I’m happy,” I said.

“Want to get something to eat? I’m starving,” Louis asked me.

“Yes, I am too.”

“Let’s go to the food court then,” he said and put his arm around my waist.

“Ok, my treat though,” I said while walking out of Macy’s with him.

“Um, I don’t think so love,” he replied.

“Um, yes I think so love. You paid for ice cream and lunch yesterday. Then today you bought the movie tickets and the bracelet. It’s my turn,” I demanded.

“Nope. I don’t care. I’m paying,” he insisted.

“Fine,” I said mischievously. I had a plan.

When we got to the food court a couple of girls approached us and asked for both of our autographs.

“Sure thing what’s your name?” Louis asked them.
