CHAPTER 37

“It’s really hard to find informations about them,” ani Raiton nang tanungin siya ni Sairi.

We were sitting in front of a circular table, having a meeting. It was our third day, yet we still didn’t find any informations about these half nijius. Mahirap itanong sa mga mamamayan ng nijius ang tungkol sa kanila dahil sekreto ang misyon naming ito. Wala rin kaming nakuhang impormasyon sa mga nijius na naririnig naming nag-uusap. They never talked about them and their organization. Tila walang nakaaalam tungkol doon o kung meron man, takot silang pag-usapan ito.

“Ano na’ng gagawin natin ngayon?” tanong ni Justin.
Nagbuntong-hininga siya’t matiiim na naghihintay sa sagot ni Sairi. Sairi was just looking at nowhere, drowned by his deep thoughts. He was silent for a minute then gazed at Raiton.

“You can read minds yet you haven’t get any informations ‘bout them...” He stared at him intently. “Is that so?”

Mataman ding napatitig si Raiton sa kaniya. “They don’t know anything as I read their minds. Seems like only those who were members of that organization know about it. And I haven’t encounter them.”

Sairi sighed and diverted his gaze at Kaze. “You haven’t feel strange ‘bout the nijius here?”

Kaze just shook his head.

“Let’s try again today,” ani Sairi.

“Can we think of other strategies?” tanong ni Hikari.

Sairi did not answer. “Let’s plit into two groups again,” he said instead.

My brows were furrowed as I stared at him. I wondered what he was thinking. We’d been doing the same strategy, yet he didn’t think of changing this.

Ano ba’ng nasa isip niya?

Since si Sairi ang nagle-lead sa team, wala kaming nagawa kun’di sundin siya. We split the team again into two: Raiton and Sairi’s team. Kasama ko si Sairi, Mizu, Michi at Jang sa team. Ang natira ay kasama sa team ni Raiton.

Nang makalayo na sa hotel ay nahinto kami nang mahinto si Sairi at liningon si Michi. Tila naghihintay siya sa kung ano man ang sasabihin nito.

Napatingin si Michi sa daang tinahak ng Team ni Raiton saka binalik ang tingin kay Sairi. “Seems like they’ve noticed I’ve been observing them when I was in their team.”

Tumango lang si Sairi, naghihintay sa idudugtong nito.

“They must’ve known that you put me in their team as a spy but they’re just silent about it.”

Kumunot ang aking noo, pinoproseso ang pag-uusap nila.

“I expected that,” ani Sairi. “You haven’t find anything?”

Michi shook her head. “But something’s strange or I’m just overthinking it.” She glanced at me then diverted her gaze at Sairi again. “Kapag naghihiwalay kami, laging magkasama ang dalawa. Raiton can just choose other partner or partner Kaze to other members. Parehas namang magagamit natin ang abilities nila para matukoy ang mga kalaban or makakuha ng impormasyon at mas magiging madali iyon kung magkahiwalay sila.”

Napaisip ako. Now that is somehow strange. Or maybe, Raiton just wanted Kaze as his partner. Nothing more.

“Wait...” Mizu interrupted, eyes were confused. “So you put Michi in their team to spy on Kaze and Raiton?”

Sairi didn’t answer.

“Do you think they’re traitors?” tanong nito, seryoso ang mukha.
