"I said, nasa Batangas na rin kami. Malapit na sa rest house ni Sir Kyle."
"Ah! Okay. Are you with Sir Dave?"
"Yes, but he'll leave tonight for Palawan. Tell you later about it. Where you guys at?"
"Nasa Foodstrip kami, just a kilometer away, more or less, from the rest house."
"Oh, okay."
"Why don't you guys join us? Sakto, nasa rest house pa sina Sir Kyle. Susunod sila rito eh, sabay na kayo sa kanila."
"Really? Sige. I'll tell Sir Lee about it. See you later!"
I returned my phone inside the front pocket of my jeans right after the call ended.
Kalhating oras na rin simula nang dumating kami rito sa Foodstrip.
Kaninang umaga, on our way to Batangas, Nica received a call from a local na kaibigan niya. She was informed about this event na first time palang gagawin ng management ng Foodstrip.
The locals who frequent the place were so excited that they posted about it on social media.
Foodstrip's promotional video was up for a week now, pero nagtrending ito nang sobra simula kahapon dahil sa dami nang comments, likes and shares.
When Nica told me about it earlier, I approved her idea na isama rin ito sa Batangas special ng Food and Travel.
Foodstrip is just another one of your foodcourts na nag-boom dahil sa business trend. Isang malaking lugar ito na may tables and seats, at food stalls na nirerentahan naman ng mga business owners ng iba't-ibang food establishments na nandito.
What's cool about this place is the ambiance itself. Nature-themed ito, and eco-friendly lahat ung mga ginagamit ng mga stalls.
Disciplined enough din ung mga staff tsaka mga customers para sumunod sa CLAY GO (Clean As You Go) policy at garbage segregation policy.
Ang ilaw dito ay fairy lights. May stage sa may harap na kita pa rin naman ng mga nakaupo sa may taas. May mga tables and seats din kasi dun.
The place is big, just enough to accomodate the locals pati na ung mga dumayo dito ngayon from other cities and places like Laguna and Manila.
All in all, this place looks so magical tonight, with all the lively people dining here, waiting for the event to start.

Napalingon kaming lahat sa harap nang magsalita ang MC.
"Wow! We did not expect to see this much number of people. From our latest count, we are 187 persons here, minus the production team and the management. Thank you guys!"
Everyone cheered and clapped.
"Are you guys ready for STD2k17?!"
Everyone answered gleefully, pati na kami ng mga kasama ko.
"Yes!"
"I can't feel your energy, friends. Are you ready?!"
