its now monday and rachel is still working from home its just after one in the afternoon maggie had anoher appointment with her lawyer and jacob was getting restless. so rachel decided to head out to the north hills mall she needed some now diapers plus jacob was growing well and she needed some more vests for him.

he had settled down in the car but woke up when they arrived at the mall as she placed him in his stroller.

rachel headed striaght to mothercare to get what she needed as she was looking at various outfits she heard someone say her name.

rachel turned and saw her mom shelby stood holding beth who was now almost eighteen months old.

" shelby" rachel said

" hey rachel its good to see you" shelby ssid walking over and hugging her then she saw jacob.

" rachel" shelby said surprised

" this is my son jacob " rachel said

" you have a baby" shelby said looking completely in shock

" yeah he is 14 weeks old" rachel said

" i cant believe it" shelby said

" i still cant either" rachel said

"  he is beautiful but what about nyada" shelby said

" if i can do it i will jacob comes first" rachel said

" finn is he been supportive " shelby asked

" finn isnt his father" rachel said

" wait what" shelby asked looking at her like she had never met her before like she had no clue who she was.

" finn isnt his dad his father is sebastian smythe " rachel said

" isnt he a warbler" shelby asked

" yeah he is the captain" rachel said

" are you guys together " shelby asked

" yeah" rachel said

" and he is he supportive " shelby asked

" yes very" rachel said

" your dads what have they said about all this" shelby asked rachel realised shelby didnt know about her dads

" my dads died a few weeks ago" rachel said trying not to cry

" what" shelby exclaimed as beth started to cry.

" it was car accident i live with sebastian and his mom maggie" rachel said.

" i am so sorry" shelby said

" they werent happy about me getting pregnant but they understood why i had to keep him" rachel said

" i dont know what to say" shelby said

" there isnt really anything to say so how have you and beth been" rachel asked wanting to not talk about her dads.

" we have been good i um i got a job at carmel high im not he coach of vocal adrenaline butnim like an adviser" shelby said

" but i thought you agreed with quinn you wouldnt come back" rachel said

" i know that but this is good opportunity for me..." shelby said

" but quinn do you have any idea how hard this is going to be for her seeing beth " rachel said

" in a few short months quinn  will have graduated and be gone from here. what do yoy care anyway i thought you hated quinn" shelby said

" quinn happens to now be one of my very best friends she as helped me since i had jacob and as been a huge support since i lost my dads so has noah" rachel said

" i know it will be hard but they dont even have to know im back" shelby said

" they know noah saw you yesterday in west lima" rachel said

" im not going to stop them seeing beth i want her to know who they are just like i wanted you to know who i am" shelby said.

" why didnt you come and see me" rachel asked

" when" shelby asked

" when you first got back here" rachel asked

" i did i went to your house i thought maybe you guys had moved i was going to so see will shuester tonight to ask if he had your current address" shelby said

" oh" rachel said

" can i see you tonight and catch up properly " shelby asked as beth really stsrted having a tantrum jacob was been as good as gold now he was awake but wasnt crying.

" ok i will give you the address" rachel said shelby handed her a piece of paper and a pen and she wrote it down.

" see you later" rachel said pushing the stroller to the check out her mind racing with thoughts now that shelby was back.

when rachel got into her car she burst into tears thinking about her dads and how when she was pregnant she had longed to contact shekby and ask her questions now shelby was back rachel didnt know how she felt about it.

she set off driving but she didnt go to the house she needed sebastian he was still at school so she drove to dalton in hope of seeing him.

as she pulled up outside the acadamy she text him saying jacob was fine but she needed to see him could he get out of class. she got a response within seconds saying to meet him in the warbler council room.

rachel got the car seat out in which jacpb was soundly asleep in the  headed straight inside the acadamy and went to the room.

as she ws walking sebastian came down the spiral staircase a look of concern on his face she waited at the bottom of the stairs for him he immediately pulled her into a cuddle.

" what is it whats the matter  is it your dads your missing them" sebastian asked gently

" yes iam but it isnt that" rachel said starting to cry

" lets go into the room and sit down" sebastian said taking the car seat and her hand leading to the room.

once they were sat down and jacob's car seat was safely on the floor sebastian pulled her to him stroking her back.

" shelby" rachel said

" have you seen her" sebastian asked she told him about their meeting in the mall.

" has she upset you" sebastian asked

" i was annoyed for quinn that she came back but it was having to tell her about my dads talking about it makes it more real" rachel said

" oh come here" he saod holding her  to him

" she want to come to the house tonight to talk more" rachel said

" ok i will be by your side and if you decide you dont want to talk about what has happened then i will ask her to leave and tell her that your not ready " sebastian asked
