why do things have to be difficult

its just over two weeks later jacob is now 10 weeks old its tuesday rachel is at the lima bean with jacob kurt and blaine.

her dad leroy was working from home today so he had looked after jacob while maggie saw her lawyer again.

rachel had picked him up after school before joining her friends for coffee jacob had fallen asleep in the car and was still sleeping now she had brought him in his car seat to save waking him up putting him in his stroller.

" so friday night valentines day im so excited " kurt said looking longingly into blaine's eyes.

" i had completely forgotten about it" rachel said

" well you never know someone may surprise you" kurt said

" i doubt that" rachel said

" you doubt what" sebastian asked she hadnt seem him arrive he had a way of just appearing there.

" we are talking about valentines day" kurt said rachel saw sebastian grimace kurt didnt know about his feelings and rachel realised valentines day must be hard for him she wanted to change the subject.

" oh" sebastian said a moment later clearly aware he had gone silent

" yeah blaine wont tell me what he has got planned for me" kurt said

" maybe he hasnt got anything planned and thats why he wont tell you" sebastian said smirking rachel hadnt seen that smirk for a long time.

" yes he has" kurt said defensively

" well i guess you will just have to wait and see" sebastian said

" see he hasnt changed has he" kurt said

" kurt" blaine said

" what so he can say what he wants to me but if i so much as call him on it i get told off" kurt said

" you started it" sebastian said

" no you did arriving all cocky" kurt screeched which woke jacob up

" oh well done" sebastian said

" both of you shut up" rachel snapped picking jacob up to calm him down.

" im sorry rach but he angered me trying to ruin valentines day for me" kurt said

" its a stupid holiday anyway if a person cant show the person they loves that they love them everyday then i dont see why they are together. its just a chance for uncaring boyfriends and girlfriends to make an effort" sebastian said

" i think its romantic " kurt said

" its irritating thats what it is" sebastian said reaching for jacob

" how is love irritating " kurt asked glaring at sebastian

" love itself isnt its people who rub it in the face of people who either dont have someone or cant be with the person they love" sebastian said rachel felt so awkward she now knew he was acting like this because of her or rather his feelings for her..

" i need to loo" rachel said getting up and walking away from the table.

she stood by the mirror having splashed her face with cold water wondering why just when things seem to be getting easier do they have to get complicated again. she didnt know what to think sebastian was clearly upset and angry was he angry with her or at the situation she didnt know should she talk to him she didnt know.

she knew she couldnt stay in the toikets forever so after checking herself in the mirror dhe left the toilets to see sebastian sat at her table holding jacob who had now stopped crying. kurt looking flushed and annoyed and blaine was giving her an encouraging smile.

" he seems settled" rachel said sitting down looking at jacob

" yep" sebastian said not looking at her

" oh hey seb" hunter said arriving beside him

" hey" sebastian said not looking at him he was just looking at jacob

" mind if i join you" hunter asked

" you can if you want but i tell you now it isnt a fun table " sebastian said pouting rachel was feeling so uncomfortable.

" well you never know i might liven it up" hunter said pulling out the chair next to him.

" so you guys got any plans for the weekend" hunter asked

" im not allowed to talk about our plans apparently " kurt said

" i have a hot date on friday" hunter said looking around at them all

" have you known her long" kurt asked

" nope just met her an hour ago but my motto is if you want something you go for it and boy do i want her.... oh smoking hot" hunter said

" where did you meet her" blaine asked

" parking lot " hunter said

" which one" kurt asked surprised

" this one she was stood by her car sipping a frozen latte as i arrived" hunter said

" whats her name" kurt asked

"quinn something " hunter said sebastian looked at rachel

" quinn fabrey" rachel asked

" yeah that's it you know i love dalton but i miss cheerleaders" hunter said

" you dont find them a bit plastic" sebastian said

" or self involved" kurt asked

" its a date not like im marrying her" hunter said.

" where you taking her" kurt asked rachel saw sebastian rolling his eyes

" nobu" hunter said

" very nice" blaine said

" what about you guys" hunter asked

" its a secret he wont tell me" kurt said excitedly

" very nice and what about you two" hunter asked looking back and forth between rachel and sebastian.

" i will be home with jacob" rachel said

"  so i guess you will be going round then having a night in then" hunter said to sebastian who was looking like he had been caught doing something he shouldnt rachel wondered what was going on.

" i might call round to see jacob " sebastian said

" i dont understand " hunter said

" they're not together " kurt said

" what" hunter asked surprised

" they have a baby but they are not together " kurt said

" but you told me..." hunter started to say.

" well i best be going" sebastian said kissing jacob and handing him to rachel before leaving quickly.

" i best be off too" rachel said not wanting kurt to question her on sebastian's behaviour or the fact that he had clearly told hunter they were together.

" ok see you tomorrow " blaine said getting up and opening the door for her as she was carrying the car seat.

as rachel set off driving home her mind was racing was sebastian telling people they were together or was it just hunter he had told. she thought back tl a feww weeks ago he had acted weird when he saw her talking to hunter had he jealously told him they were together so he wouldleave her alone.
