he isnt that bad

a difficult day

its now Wednesday rachel is sat in the office of the lawyer who is dealing with her dads wills sebastian maggie and jacob are all with her.

" now miss berry im sorry things have taken so long but it is much more simple now your eighteen the wills are the same everything was to be left to the other mr berry and states if the other mr berry is deceased then everything is left to you. this includes tweny thousand three hundred and fifty pou ds which is their savings. there is a college fund set up for you worth twenty thousand dollars. there is also a education fund set up for jacob at the time of your fathers death it was worth fifteen hundred i can switch it to your name for you to keep paying into it. then they is the house as your eighteen the house is legally yours miss berry " the lawyer said

" the house" rachel said she hadnt been back there since the night they died

" you can sell it or rent it out or ofcourse you can live there"  the lawyer said

" is the house paid off" maggie asked

" yes completely " the lawyer said

" thank you " maggie said she stood up and pushed jacob's stroller out of the office while sebastian held rachel's hand as they followed her out.

" you ok" sebastian asked once they were out of the office.

" it just makes it all so much more real" rachel said

" i feel i wizard of oz moment coming " maggie said smiling at her.

" lets go home" sebastian said

once they were at the smythe house rachel and sebastian decided to bath jacob and they decider to join him in the tub so rachel wearing a bikini and sebastian in his trunks they laid in the bath tub taking turns to hold jacob. jqcob had started to like the water little more as he was more aware of his surroundings he noticed his toys and was calmer because if it.

sebastian was holding jacob who was kicking his little legs about in the water rachel was sat quietly thinking about what the lawyer had said.

" talk to me" sebastian said rachel looked at him

" i know your thinking about the lawyer talk to me " sebastian said

"i just keep thinking about the house i dont know what to do about it i dont think i could live there but i lived their my whole life so many memories i dont want to sell it" rachel said

" well i think you have your answer rent it out that way you still own it you dont have to live there but if you choose to go there you can" sebastian said

" yeah i guess if i do rent it would you help me " rachel asked

" ofcourse i will help you anyway i can" sebastian said

" thank you" rachel said

" i mean your mom will be alright me staying here i can start paying rent" rachel said

" rachel she is taking my dad for half of everything he has pull she has a shit loads of money she got when my granddad died she doesnt need you to pay rent." sebastian said

" but she was worried about paying for dalton when your dad refused to pay" rachel asked

" her dad was worried my dad would take her inheritance so he had it set up where she gets a monthly  allowance " sebastian said

" oh he really didnt like him did he" rachel said

" no he didnt i dont think many people have liked him i know my mom said he wasnt like this when she met him. " sebastian said

" your mom was close with her dad" rachel said

" yeah kind of like you and leroy im not been mean to hiram its just i noticed leroy and you seemed to have a special bond" sebastian said

" we did" rachel said getting upset.

" think our little man is ready to get out" sebastian said

five minutes later rachel was sat at her dressing table wearing her dressing gown her hair still wet she sat there looking in her mirror looking at her reflection she barely recognised herself. so much had happened in the last twelve months her life was so different her life used to be all about the future the bright future she hoped to have on broadway. now the future scared her it was so unclear so full of uncertainty  she was frightened of it the present was hard enough without her dads.

sebastian sensed she wanted time alone with her thoughts so he having gotton dry tuck jacob downstairs rachel sat there for a long time before the bedroom door opened and in walked maggie.

she didnt say anything she simply walked over to rachel picked  her hair brush up off the dresser and began to gently brush rachel's hair slowly working out the knots.

" thank you " rachel said as maggie finished

" your welcome you know rachel people try to run before they can walk they forget the importance of baby steps like your hair it was knotting from the bath now its knot free it is more comfortable is it not.you cant plan life the future is always uncertain thats part of its charm. its ok to dream what you must always remember rachel how we get there is just as important as getting there. sometimes having the odds stacked against us is a good thing it makes us work harder and appreciate it more when we achieve our goals. it is also ok to accept that our dreams change doesnt mean we have failed sometimes we grow out of our dreams. you never planned on been a teen mom but you are and your a fantastic mother jacob is a very lucky little boy. i cant imagine what your going through losing your dads rachel but your alot stronger than you realise. you adapted as a mom you will be alright rachel whatever the future holds for you your more than capable of handling it. " maggie said

" thank you" rachel said tears dripping down her face.

" i will leave you to dress the wizard of oz and the blankets and thd snacks are ready so come down when your ready" maggie said she squeezed rachel's shoulder before leaving.
