when it counts

the following morning rachel woke up early jacob was still fast asleep looking like a little angel all peaceful he really was perfect.

rachel got up and put on her dressing gown she thought after what happened yesterday and what she had discovered maggie deserved breakfast in bed.

so after grabbing the baby monitor rachel quietly made her way down the stair to the kitchen the house was huge there were doors to rooms rachel had no idea what they were.

as rachel walked into the kitchennshe had all on not to scream as sebastian was all ready up he frightened the hell out of her.

" oh my god" rachel exclaimed clutching her chest

" nope just me" sebastian said walking round the island counter in the middle of the kitchen to hug her.

" i didnt know you were up" rachel said after thry had a quick kiss

"  i thought i would mke breakfast in bed for my two fravorite women" sebastian said

" thats why i got up to make some for your mom" rachel said

" im early redy ut you could make some more coffee i have drunk most of what i made" sebastian said

" ok" rachel said

" are you alright" sebastian asked a look of concern flashed in his eyes.

" yeah i just feel bad for your mom after everything she has done for me the fact that shelby hurt her" rachel said

" its not your fault" sebastian said

" i know i just feel bad about it" rachel said

" i feel for my mom too especially as i know im the reason she put up with him. " sebastian said looking upset. rachel walked over to him and cuddled him.

" as a mom i can honestly say she wont regret that for a second" rachel said

" you think" sebastian asked he looked like a sad little boy right now pouting his eyes filled with tears.

" i do sbe loves you your her world its like jacob people sayyou kniw you might not get to broadway now and dont get me wrong that tuck some getting used to when i was pregnant. now it doesnt matter if i spend my life making sure he is happy healthy and safe then i will spend my life doing something worthwhile." rachel said

" yeah" sebastian said cuddling her

" we best plate this up" rachel said pointing to the pans

" yeah" sebastian said rachel placed the coffee pot on a tray with three mugs sebastian plated up the food and thennthe two of them slowly made their way upstairs to maggie's room.

" mom" sebastian said softly while knocking

" seb" maggie called

" we made breakfast " sebastian said

" come in" maggie said sebastian opened the door and let rachel in first

" morning" rachel said

" good morning " maghie said

" morning mom" sebastian said placing the tray on her lap

" good morning seb" maggie said with a warm smile.

" rach you eat too" sebastian said handing her knife and fork to her....

later that day

sebastian had gone to school rachel had worked from home on a spanish project for mr shue jacob had been more settled today.

now rachel was getting jacob ready she and sebastian were going to the supermarket maggie was having dinenr at a friends house so they wanted to get something in for dinner.

rachel heard his car pull up so she headed out with jacob in her arms sebastian was already out of the car and having opened the back passenger car door for her to put jacob in his car seat.

" i will put him in" sebastian said taking jacob from her he cuddled him

" hello my son daddy is here yes i am is it me or are you getting cuter i think you are " sebastian said in his baby voice.

as they arrived at the supermarket jacob began to cry so rachel decided to hold him sebastian placed his car seat into a trolley.

" so what do you fancy for dinner " rachel asked sebastian as they entered the store

" i was thinking pasta" sebastian said

" ok " rachel said as they walked down the first aisle jacob had settled down alittle he wasnt crying loudly but he was still alittle grumpy.

" let me put him in the car seat i think he is tired" rachel said

" ok babe" sebastian said

" hey guys" blaine said from behind them

" hey" rachel said

" kurt and i are getting something for dinner" blaine said

" so are we" sebastian said as kurt came walking over carrying a free sample of a brand new yogurt only as he got near them he caught his foot on the corner of a display stand and tripped send the yogurt all over his face.

they all laughed and so did jacob it was the first time he ever laughed.

" oh my god jacob" rachel said picking up out of the car seat.

" how amazing was that" sebastian said steoking jacob's head

" he laughed at me" kurt said

" you made him laugh for the first time" blaine said

" he laughed at me" kurt said

" dont worry kurt it was bound to happen he is my son after all" sebastian said

" i just had a facial" kurt said

" lets get you cleaned up kurt. rach sebastian it was great to see you" blaine said leading kurt away.

" he can laugh " rachel said

" yeah i know" sebastian said they both stood marveling at their son who was now asleep.
