Chapter 3

"What?! No way dad!"

Did I heard him right? He wants me to ride with the Alcantaraz every single day of my college life. My bestfriend would be thrilled. But I would be pissed seeing Luke everyday.

"I see nothing wrong with it. I trust Luke. You go to the same school and we will all be saving petrol..." my dad said in a calm voice.

"We have a driver dad.... or, I can learn how to drive." Palusot ko.
Wag lang masabay kay Luke.

"You know I won't let you drive..."
kumulimlim ang anyo ni dad. My bad.
I shouldn't have brought that subject.
He's sensitive when it comes to the word driving.
My mom died in a car crash. She was driving. Although it wasn't her fault because the truck driver who hit her was drunk.

I sighed. I think I've lost. Gonna try again on our next conversation. I will suggest carpool naman.

" Ok dad..you win." I sighed in surrender.

I rushed to the door when I heard Mandy calling. Isang mataas na bakod lang ang pagitan ng mga bahay namin. Mayaman di ang pamilya nila. They own an import-export shipping company.

She was standing beside Luke's BMW checking her face on a compact mirror she was holding. Luke's on the wheel grinning at me.

"Morning princess.." he said.

Eyeroll.

Pinauna ako ni Mandy sumakay tsaka siya pumasok.

"San po tayo mga madam?" Luke said staring at us from the back mirror.

"Go na kuya! We will be late!" Si Mandy.

"Ginawa niyo akong driver. Wala man lang akong katabi dito sa harap." Reklamo nito while starting the engine.

I wickedly smiled while looking outside. Buti nga!

Silent treatment.

"Syanga pala Belle, how's your sprained ankle?" Pang-aasar ni Luke habang sinipat ako sa rearview mirror.

Eyeroll. Duh. Inirapan ko siya.

" Syanga pala kuya, can I have your class schedule? Para naman we will know kung anong oras tayo magkakasabay uuwi?"

Mandy said, winking an eye at me. Also, it's for us to know Will's schedule, and we are planning to stalk him later.

"I'll just hand you my sched later, nasa backpack ko." He said.

When we arrived at school, Luke handed his sched to me. I looked at him puzzled. Mandy was still gathering her books inside the car.

"Just in case you wanted to see me in class..." he whispered while handling his sched.

"As if I asked for this? Hello?! Yuck," I blew him out of my face. He was bickering at me.

"I will be a little late later, we will have basketball practice. Wait for me ok." He said.

My eyes lit up.

"Is Will part of the basketball team?" I asked.

"Hh-hmm," his brow raised.

"Can we watch you guys play?"

"Hh-hmm" he shrugged.

"Ok. See you later then." I smiled at him. Mandy was all set.

Halos magkapareho lang ang sched namin nila Luke kaya medyo walang problema sa pag-uwi. Makakasabay pa rin kaming umuwi, unless na lang pag may mga practice. Hindi naman gaanong matagal ng paghihintay tutal andiyan naman si Mandy. Pwede kaming mag library muna o kaya tumambay sa isang cafe malapit lang sa school.
