Zach's POV

The officer asked me and Char to step out of the car. He stepped back so we could get out and I turned to Char and mouthed 'I'm sorry' to her. 'Zach it's fine' she mouthed back and smiled. I returned it but it quickly faded when the officer said "Out of the car, Now" in a stern tone .
I rolled my eyes because he ruined our moment and stepped out of the car. "Hey don't get mad at me you were the one who were speeding.AND forgot to renew your license. That's all on you bud."he said an patted my shoulder.
He pulled out his notepad and I turned around when I saw Charlotte standing next to me. "Have you been doing drugs or anything?" he asked me . "Drugs?! Alchohol?! I'm 16 for fucks sake !" I protested. Charlotte rubbed my arm in a soothing manner. I looked to her and saw her mouth 'Calm down it will be okay' I nodded and exhaled releasing my breath slowly.
"Sir I'm going to need you to calm down" he said to me.I nodded and rested my back against the car. "Well I am going to have to take you in until someone can come get you that has an unexpired license." he said looking at me. "Ok" I breathed out. "Ma'am I guess you'll be coming since you don't have a ride?" he asked Charlotte. She nodded.
Oh man Jonah is going to kill me...
He led us over to his car and he sat us down in the back. The officer went to call someone to tow the truck. The back of the car was tight so me and Charlotte were really close to each other. I was staring at her and she was staring at me.
The way her dark chestnut brown hair shimmered in the moonlight was amazing. Her face glowed under the reflection of the moons light.I was interrupted by my thoughts when she asked me "You okay?". I snapped out of my thoughts and said "Yea". "I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that it's my fault" I said. She rested her hand slightly above my knee .I know it's a girly thing to say ,but my heart fluttered when she touched me.I looked into her eyes and she said "Zach I take blame for this too. I didn't stop you ,so it's not entirely your fault ". I gave her a reassuring smile which she returned and said "Jonah's gonna kill me" while laughing. She laughed along until we saw a tow truck come and put the truck on it.
The policeman then got in the car and began driving.
About 30 minutes later we were brought to a police station . "Get out" the police man said while stepping out himself. Me and Charlotte gave each other worried glances and then scooted out of the car. Security escorted us inside and checked us for weapons. Once we were proved weapon-free they sat us down in the waiting area. They brought us over to a phone on the wall. "You guys have one call make it count ,or you'll be staying here the night" he said. "5 minutes" he told us and stepped out of the way. Me and Charlotte looked at each other and then as if we could read each others minds she picked up the phone and dialed the Why Don't We home phone line.
I could hear the whole conversation from where I was standing. "Hello?"Corbyn's voice rang through the speaker. "Um Hi Corbyn" she said a little nervous. I heard shuffling on the edge of the phone then I heard Corbyn say "It's Charlotte" to I'm guessing was the guys. I again heard shuffling then I heard Jonah's voice boom through the speaker causing Charlotte to flinch. "WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS?" Jonah yelled obviously worried , confused and over all angry. "Jonah calm down" Charlotte started to say , but was interrupted by Jonah. "I'M NOT GOING TO CALM DOWN UNTIL I FIND MY SISTER WHO IS GOD KNOWS WHERE AND WITH GOD KNOWS WHO AND-- WAIT WHERE THE HELL IS ZACH ?" He yelled through the phone. "Right behind me " she said. "TELL HIM TO BRING HIS ASS OVER HERE" Jonah yelled through the phone.
