Erik lead me to a gazebo. The roses gently made their way over the woodwork spreading their lovely fragrance as the soft breeze cherished them. I sat down in the sun. It felt warm and comfortable.

Erik walked to one of the roses and gently picked it before giving it to me. It was a crème white with a bit of red on the edges of the leaves. ''A lovely rose for a lovely lady such as yourself.'' Erik said and he sat down beside me. I heard him take a deep breath before he started to speak.

''I will not be able to tell you everything. If you panic, I hope you do not mind me enthralling you.'' He started. 'Enthralling...' that word was familiar and made a heavy feeling grow in my stomach. I felt like I both knew and did not know what it meant but I nodded. ''Alright.'' I reply. I needed to know at least something. Erik nodded and began his story. ''You've probably heard some small fragments. Escaping our father's clutches, taking out devils. They are true. We, as in my brothers, you and me do not originate from this world.''

I looked at Erik with a questioning look. However, I felt as if I did know all of this already despite my mind had not come up with it before by itself. I kept quiet though to hear the rest of what Erik had to say.

You never told us where you came from. My father captured you and abused you. However, he never broke you. Heck you were the only one who dared to laugh in his face. Something that made him want you even more though. You had been in his dungeon already a while when one day, Damien entered the place where my father held you. You hated him first, for being the son of the man you loathed so much. However, after many visits and conversations you opened up to him more. Realising he was nothing like the man who had sired us. Upon request from you, Damien introduced James, Matthew, Sam and me too you as well by taking us with him. We comforted you when our father had his way with you and gave you food and water when he didn't. Despite the wounds, scars and pain though you kept smiling and even comforted us when we were troubled. One day, a human contacted Damien. That human somehow got his hands on a method to contact us and was willing to summon us to this realm. Heck, we could even bring you with us. So everything was set. Acover story, documents, everything'' Erik paused and I could see the hint of pain in his eyes.

''We released you from our father's chains and we all ran for it. Ready to leave it all behind. The portal was there, open. Only you, Sam and me were left to go through. However some of our father's servants shot something to you resulting in chains binding your legs. The portal was closing. It could only be open for a short amount of time.'' Erik's hand had turned into a fist and he trembled. Pain and guilt written all over his face. Sam and I tried to come back for you but you told us to go through the portal. The portal sucked us in before we could and it closed. We wanted to take you with us so badly but had no means to come back for you. I'm so, so sorry.''

''Erik...'' I whispered his name but he did not respond. I said his name again a bit louder and when he looked at me I noticed a tear rolling over his cheek. I reached and wiped It away. I started to remember a few things by my own. Their father; a king in the Abyssal Plains. The five sons I spent time with although that was more knowing that I did rather than how I spent it with them. Their race. Incubi. It did not strike fear in me at all however. If I focussed I probably would've remembered more but I did not chase it. Instead I focussed on the man beside me.

''Erik, I believe you and hold no grudge to you or your brothers.'' I cupped his face which seemed to shock him but he closed his eyes as he rested his head slightly against my hand. ''Thank you Erik, for telling me. Sorry that I took so long to get here.'' Erik opened his eyes to stare at me before wrapping his arms around me. ''Never leave us again...'' he whispered in my ear.

''Not until I die.'' I reply back to him softly as I embraced him myself. I felt his head rest on my shoulder. ''You are cruel, [___].'' Erik said and chuckled. Making me think that I probably made that promise before. We stayed in the embrace for a while and by the time we let go, his tears had dried.
