Monday. Two days after Erik said he met someone willing to help regarding Mika. It was good news and I noticed that despite all of them were sceptic, hope returned to the boys as well. James together with Sam seemed conflicted mainly due to this 'Ezeq' being a Nephilim including what he was going to ask in return. Erik and Damien were going to meet with him in a couple of days. It was a silent, fragile hope. At home we did not exactly speak about it as well since first they had to see if he could help in the first place. Sam in the meantime was going to try to dig up information about this Nephilim

It was a lot less busy at the Arcade compared to the first time Matthew and I went. ''Do we need to be good at everything?'' I asked. I had forgotten how many games there were here. No way that I could master them all. ''Not to worry. We will only have to focus on dual games. All games are two against two, hence one needs a partner to participate.'' Matthew explained. ''Lets get us signed up first for the competition.'' Matthew said and took my hand pulling me with me to the counter. Signing up was easy and the first game we did was a cooperative tactical survival game first playing it one against one but two teenagers wanted to play as well. The goal was to sabotage the other team while also surviving zombies. There were not enough supplies for both teams to make it to the place you could be extracted from. Drawing the zombies to the other team was Matthew's job while I stole supplies. In the end we did not make it to the extraction point however we did earn points. ''This is hard...'' I sighed. ''It is easy mode though.''Matthew teased. If this was easy mode then how hard was hardmode going to be I wondered. There were also a few fighting games, racing games and a puzzle game where one had to give instructions to the other. This day told me one thing, and that was that this competition was not going to be easy. Still it was about the fun.

''You did good especially considering you did not know most of the games. Last time we were here it was me versus you.'' Matthew said. ''Come. Let me buy us both some food. You have worked hard so deserved it.'' Matthew grinned. As we walked, we passed by a toy store with some very familiar plush toy designs. ''You know I secretly find it hilarious that the toys are wanted by kids and teenagers but that the show is intended for adults.'' I said with a smile. ''And you honestly believe kids do not see it?'' Matthew asked. ''Those who want to will find a way I suppose.'' I said with a smile. ''Oh. There will be a new addition to the family as well.'' he was practically beaming with pride. ''Oh? Can I ask who?'' ''Nope.'' Matthew replied. ''It will be a surprise. You will have to wait.'' ''Matthew you're mean.'' I said and giggled. ''But fine. If I have to wait then so be it.'' We continued our walk and ended up by a small Italian place. It was their favorite type of food and if James had the time he would make elaborate Italian meals. Matthew was more fascinated by the desserts. We both ordered a pizza and something to drink. Matthew hummed a happy tone. ''Someone is cheerful.'' I said and he nodded. ''Of course. Why wouldn't I be. I mean... I really had a good time today. We should really try to do this more often. Since you have your jobs though aside school you have been really busy. And even in the holidays you are going to work.'' he said and I felt a hint of guilt. ''I know... and I am sorry. I just... still need to balance things out a bit more and get used to it.'' ''It is alright. You are enjoying yourself right?'' Matthew said and I nodded. ''I am. Although wearing those costumes at work is still a little awkward for me. Most of the things the owner comes up with are unfamiliar to me so I need to research those first. But pirate week, Alice in Wonderland, 1001 arabian nights and cat night are coming up.'' I said with a chuckle. Wondering in what kind of costume I was going to serve the customers in. Despite it were outfits I would never wear outside of the café, the owner does seem to make sure they were always decent. He also is ruthless against those who do not follow the simple rule when it came to harassing the staff. I noticed now though Matthew looked at me surprised. ''Did... did you say cat night?'' he asked. ''Uhhu. I think it was even cat maid. There will also be a tournament. The owner organises it once every season or so where customers can challenge one of the staff members for a game. If the customer wins they can win a variety of things including taking a photograph with the one they challenged.'' I explained. ''They seriously have events like that?'' Matthew said amazed. ''Yes. And when looking at the event photos I am really surprised how many customers try to actually participate to be on the photo with the staff members.'' I replied. ''Will... you be alright though?'' he asked now realizing that if staff members could be challenged I could be too. ''A staff member has to work there for at the least three months before a challenge can be asked so that is giving me time to actually learn the card games. Although if I truly would not want to have my picture potentially being taken with a customer the owner told me already I could be 'off limits'. He respects personal boundaries.'' I said. ''That is good.'' Matthew said relieved. ''Still, I might be coming to visit you at the café soon. I have grown curious.'' he grinned. It was not often he could make a face like this. ''Very well. Make sure to call me Maymay there though.'' I said with a wink. ''So if I come there on the cat maid day will you call me Master then?'' Matthew teased. I felt my face flush. I had not thought of that. ''I will if you want me to. It might feel a bit weird though.'' I admitted. ''It is fine. I was just teasing.'' Matthew assured. ''No, no. No taking your words back mister. Besides, I need to stay in character there. I have to treat all customers equally so if I call other guests Master I shall do that with you too. But first, Halloween.'' I said and he nodded. ''Of course. We are going to make it your best Halloween ever.'' Matthew grinned. ''Despite it is my first?'' I said with a smile. ''Ehh well...'' Matthew stumbled a bit over his words. I could not help but laugh briefly. ''I am just teasing.'' I said. Matthew however looked at me with a slight blush on his face. ''W-what...'' I said softly. ''I well. Just realized how pretty you are when you're smiling.'' Matthew admitted. ''I... am? But... I smile more often..'' I said. ''Yes. But I don't know. It seems different then usual? I think you are settling into this world. Getting used to your current life.'' Matthew replied and took a sip of his drink. ''That is a good thing right?'' I asked and he nodded. ''It is. You look happy. And seeing you happy well, that makes me happy too.''
