The downside of having been gone from school for a week was that I was missing a weeks worth of lessons which I had to catch up. ''This is new, you taking copies of my notes.'' Leylia teased. ''Yea yea...'' I said with a smile. I was glad Leylia let me. It were just the notes though, she also offered me to copy the homework but I refused. I would just have to work extra hard in the weekend with probably an allnighter to get it done. For now I was in an empty classroom with just her to catch up with what I missed. Our usual lesson got cancelled because the teacher was sick and we decided to study but somewhere more remote. It was often rather loud when self study was required and in the library we had to be completely quiet making us decide to be in a vacant classroom so we had the freedom to talk to one another. The bell for lunch had rang about fifteen minutes ago but Leylia assured me she did not mind and wanted to help me with catching up.

''So you did not go huh? Want me to toss this away?'' Leylia asked as she read over the letter again I found in my locker the day before about someone who claimed to be in love with me. For some reason the warning of Diana echoed through my head making me decide not to go. ''Why did you not go?'' Leylia asked. ''You're kidding right? It was hailing, raining and snowing at the same time with a freezing wind. I'd rather meet up where I am not alone.'' I admitted. ''How so?'' Leylia asked and decided to bring up an excuse I did not like using at all. ''The man who held me captive has never been caught. So... I am a bit careful, making sure I am never alone. As long as there are others around me nobody can hurt me right?'' I said with a smile. ''Yea... you're right. Do you think they will ever catch this guy?'' Leylia asked and I shrugged. ''I do not know. It is something I prefer not to think about too much either.'' I said and finished writing the notes from Leylia. ''Would you get letters like that again, you can ask me or the others to come with you you know.'' Leylia said with a smile. ''We got your back.'' ''Thank you.'' I said to Leylia and put the work down now I was finished. While I packed my bag Leylia walked to the window. ''Ugh this weather does not make me want to do anything.'' she said with a sigh. I could not blame her, the hail and rain were beating against the window almost as if in an attempt to break it accompanied by thunder and lightning. ''The good side from facing this weather to go home is that I am going to crawl in my onesie after a hot shower, prepare hot chocolate with a ton of whipped cream and go watch Nymphs or something.'' Leylia said with a grin before packing her own stuff too. ''You will grow fat if you do that every time it is cold you know.'' I teased. ''Shut up.'' Leylia said pouting but laughed. The moment we wanted to leave the classroom however there was a flash of lightning followed by a loud thunder. A few seconds after everything went dark. ''Are you kidding me?!'' Leylia called out and sighed. We both took our phones and used it as a flashlight to make it possible for us to see. ''So this is what the school looks like in complete darkness...'' I said as I looked around. Our phones only did so much but it was better than nothing. ''Come on. Lets make our way to the cafetaria.'' I suggested. ''Can't we wait until the power is back on?'' Leylia asked. ''I do not like the dark. Even with our phones, going down the stairs will be dangerous...'' ''We will find a way to get down. In the worst case we sit down on the steps and slowly make our way down sitting.'' I said. ''Alright...'' By her voice I could tell she was far from comfortable. ''Say [___] do you have reception? I can not make calls and my internet is down too.'' After Leylia mentioned it I checked my phone as well. ''I got nothing. Perhaps a large area is affected.'' ''I guess...'' Leylia said.

We did not walk as quick as we normally would but when we were halfway down the first stairs we got stopped by a group of people. It was faint but I could defiantly pick up the scent of sulphur. I could not tell how many there were but they were with at least seven from what I could tell. ''Could you let us pass please?'' I asked. It was Leylia who noticed something else though. ''Despite the darkness I can tell your uniforms are not from this school. It is best to go to the Dean's office or the cafeteria. I can not imagine you have business on the floor above us since nobody else is there.'' Leylia sounded friendly but her words were not met what she expected. One of them, a young man who sounded as if he was in his late teens started to laugh. ''WHAHA HAHAHAHA! You hear that? How cute.'' the voice sounded insane alone. ''We do have business here actually.'' he said once he was finished laughing and pointed at me. ''You there you fucking slut, not showing up to my letter huh? Do you have any idea how long I waited for you?'' he said and licked his lips. Something was wrong and I gently held Leylia's hand. Before I could whisper in her ear that we had to go however she responded. ''That is no way to talk her.'' Leylia said making the young man look at her. ''Ohhhh a feisty one. Those are always the most fun.'' he licked his lips hungrily. Seeing that made a chill run down my spine. There was a sound of snapping fingers and both Leylia and I were grabbed a second later. Both of us were pushed against the stairs. Hitting it with my back already hurt like crazy. ''Let go!'' Leylia called. I heard a scream come her and saw the one who held her casted dark flames that slowly seared her skin. ''Leylia!...'' ''Come on little demon are you not going to fight back?'' the one on top of me asked. I gritted my teeth followed by a whimper as I felt flames searing my legs where I was held. I could not let them go on with this. I knew Demon magic was draining regardless of it being spells suitable for humans or not but perhaps I could buy enough time for at least Leylia to get away. ''spiritus lumine da fortitudinem tuam discedo!'' A wave of light bursted from my body pushing whatever was on top of me and Leylia were blown away. The light faded but what I saw despite not surprising did shock me. It was a total of 12 devils. ''Leylia we've got to run.'' Before I gave her the chance to ask me anything I grabbed her wrist to get her up. Already were the devils trying to get on their feet and I aimed my hand at them. ''Vites luminis innecto!'' A purple and golden light surrounded the devils like vines and it was then I started to run in the darkness with Leylia.
