Chapter 06 ~ Common Route ~Diana

Again we were in a parking garage. Thisone I noticed felt heavier. Cold even and I found myself wrapping my arms around my form. ''Are you sure you are alright?'' Damien asked. I nod. ''Yes. I think that confined and dark places are just not so good for me.''

''Well then the sooner we are out of the garage the better. When we have finished with our visit you and Damien can wait at the entrance hall and I will drive the car there instead alright?''

''Thank you and... sorry.'' I felt guilty and for some reason on the verge of tears. I was not sure why all these heavy emotions were raining down on me. Anger. Fear. Pain. Sadness. But when I took deep breaths I also felt joy. Something I decided to cling on to in the hope that it would soothe my mind which it fortunately did. Damien though looked at me but decided not to speak.

The three of us left the parking garage and headed to the hospital. Somehow it looked different than I imagined. It was spacious and even had shops and a few restaurants where both patients and visitors ate.The doctors were wearing white coats and one was followed by a group of young people wearing similar clothing. Probably students, but I did not ask.

The room where Mika was in was located at the third floor. Having enough of confined spaces we took the escalator instead of the elevator even though it resulted in us taking longer.

Stepping through the threshold of the room gave me a more heavy feeling than I had experienced before but Erik's hand on my shoulder made it lighter. Damien had stepped in the room first. ''Mika, remember [___] we told you about? She is doing a lot better now and we took her with us today so you both could meet.'' Erik guided me further in the room past the curtain and I saw Mika in the bed hooked on machinery which did God knew what. Her long black hair was in a braid and she was almost as pale as the sheets she was under. A steady beep came from one of the machines and I swallowed.

''Hey... ehm...'' what the hell was I doing. I took a deep breath.

''Sorry dear she is still a bit shy but I assure you. When you wake I bet the both of you can become good friends.'' Erik said calmly.

I had no idea why I felt so nervous. Still. Whether she could hear me or not I had to say something. ''It is... nice to meet you Mika. My name is [___]. I uhm...'' what was I supposed to say. ''I hope we will get along.'' I started to approach the bed. ''The boys they... spoke a lot about you. And are worried so... I hope that you will wake up soon so the loneliness and pain in their smiles will leave.''

There was no response but I did not expect one either. Magic coma's like these were actually impossible to break out of. Despite my memory loss this was something I knew but I did not say it. Did not have to though I knew for a fact Damien heard what I thought. The mood in the room however was hopeful regardless but it soon took a turn south.

It started by the sound of heels followed by a voice that gave Damien and Erik an expression I had not seen before. Contempt? Before I could ask a voice broke the silence.

''Well well. I knew it was only a matter of time before you boys would visit again.''

''Diana what are you doing here...'' Erik stopped with his words and if it hadn't been for Damien to hold him by the arm Erik probably would've went to the woman who I could not yet see due to the curtain. Still this hostility was new to me. Then again, from what I had heard it was Diana's fault Mika got into a coma to begin with.

''She influenced some people and is now Mika's doctor. It being a supernatural induced coma normal doctors can not do much other then making her comfortable.'' Damien said softly.

''Indeed I did. Like I said, I will right my wrong.'' The voice sounded closer and the door of the room was closed, probably by her.

''Right your wrong? All you did was first threatening her and when she would not give in you put her into a coma all because you wanted us to come back home. What will be next. Just leave. You did enough damage.'' Erik hissed. The temperature in the room dropped a good few degrees and to be frank, I wanted to leave.
