By the time I had woken up and made my way to the dining room Sam had already left to go to work. Matthew had left with Damien to get groceries leaving only Erik and James. Not that I mind, but I was not used to sleep in to this hour.

''Good morning sleepyhead.'' Erik said with a smirk. ''It is not often you sleep in this late. Everything alright?'' James asked. I nodded and replied that I just had a hard time falling asleep last night. In the kitchen I made myself a bowl of crunchy grains with nuts, honey and yoghurt not really feeling much for toast.

''What are your plans for today Angel. James told me that you have the desire to learn how to dance because of a party at school?'' Erik asked and I nodded. ''Correct.'' I replied. ''Any idea when you wish to start?'' James asked before sipping his coffee. ''I do not know how difficult it is to learn but it will depend on when either of you are available. Free time is a precious thing...'' Erik interrupted me. ''Angel we've been over this. We gladly will teach you things. Spending time with you is not a punishment to us you know. We wish to spend as much time with you as we possibly can.'' I nodded. It were words I heard more times than I could count yet every time I asked something of them I would feel guilty. I sighed and smiled. ''I would love to learn how to dance. We just need to find out which times are the best. For today though, there is still a little bit of homework I should do. When Matthew is back and the groceries have been put put away we will take a look at his new toys but I am free after that. I have nothing tomorrow either.''

''Alright Miss, how about you and I get started tonight.'' James suggested and I nodded. ''I'd like that.'' I replied. ''Then I shall take the liberty of helping you out tomorrow Angel.'' Erik added. ''I look forward to it. Also, James. Erik. Thank you.'' I met their smiles with one of my own and cleaned up my bowl after finishing my breakfast. Both brothers took some time to relax and I headed to my room to study until Matthew knocked on my door. We worked for a good three hours though until we were both satisfied. Matthew still had a few things to do regarding the Halloween toys but that were things I would not be able to help with. ''Awesome. Now I just need the approval of James and it is good to go.'' he said with a grin. ''Thanks. I could not have done this without you.'' ''I think you could. I did not do much.'' I replied to him and got off my seat. ''Well then. Go see James. I will make dinner.'' ''By yourself?'' Matthew asked and I shrugged. ''I have to learn it someday right?'' I grinned. I did not exactly cook often but the brothers did teach me how to make a few dishes. It was not as tasty as theirs but if I did not cook on a regular basis I would never get good at it. There was a cookbook with simple but tasty recipes which I opened on a random page. ''Quiche it is.'' I decided and read the instructions. To prevent I ended up always making the same I would just randomly open the book and make whatever recipe was on that page. The required ingredients were no strange things fortunately so I got to work.

The quiches were in the oven and I was working on a salad when Sam came home from work. ''Something smells good! It is different from normal though. You dared trying something else than Italian cuisine James?'' Sam said as he entered the kitchen where he stopped. ''If you are looking for James, wrong door.'' I teased and smiled before welcoming him home. ''We will have quiche today with a salad. Not to worry there is meat in it.'' Sam ruffled my hair. ''I look forward to it. First I will take a quick shower and change though. Don't start dinner without me.'' he grinned. ''I wouldn't dare.'' I said and winked before attending to the salad again.

After dinner it were just James and me in the dining room. His phone was playing a simple but lovely piano melody on a loop and with painters tape he made a small square on the wooden floor. James removed his blazer and tie placing them on a chair. ''Alright Miss, stand over here.'' he said kindly gesturing to the square and I obliged. I was not going to ask, surely he knew what he was doing. ''First, we pay attention to our posture. We do not slouch or lean on the dance partner. So, we stand straight.'' He placed one hand above my chest and one on my back to guide me into standing straight. ''And also, do not look down. A dance like this, is a silent conversation. You should be able to read what your partner is going to do from his or her eyes. If you know what to look for that is.'' I nodded and made sure I would remember this. ''In this case I lead, so with my left hand I will hold your right, palms facing each other. My right hand will be on your shoulder blade. Your left hand should be on my shoulder with your fingers on the seam of the sleeve. Following me so far Miss?'' James asked and I nodded. ''Yes.'' It was strange standing this close to James but I did not have long to think about that. ''Now, you stand just at the right of me. Ballroom dancing requires a lot of footwork and this prevents we step on each other's toes. We start easy with three movements indicated as I will count one, two, three. On one, you take a small step backwards with your right foot. Your left foot will briefly meet, but be placed down on that corner of the square. Shift your weight on there and place your right foot next to it. Next is finishing the 'square' by placing your left foot on the corner across the one you are currently on now. Slide your right to meet it and place it in the other corner. That's it.'' he said. It sounded so simple and it was a lot of information. But not doing anything would get me nowhere. ''I shall permit you to look down at our feet for the first few minutes so you can get used to the steps but the sooner you do not look the better. Ready?'' James asked. ''Ready.'' I replied.

It was a bit messy at first but I did soon get the hang of it. It felt natural and the tape square was soon forgotten. I felt warm though and by the time we stopped we have been at it for about two hours and James had taught me a few more steps. ''Well done Miss. You make a good dance partner.'' James said and lowered his hand from my shoulder. ''You too and an excellent teacher.'' I replied with a smile. He brought my hand he held towards his lips and placed a gentle kiss on the knuckles before releasing it, making me blush. ''Thank you James.'' I gave him a polite bow. ''You're welcome Miss.''

''You learn fast.'' Sam said and I noticed him leaning against the wall. I had been so busy with James I had not even hear him come in. He looked tired and there was something in his eyes that made me worry. I wonder if it was related to what I had noticed a few weeks ago when I couldn't sleep. The hint of fear laced through other complex emotions but what was it. Come to think of it he had been more distant and by himself. ''James could I talk with you for a bit?'' Sam asked and he nodded. ''I will take my leave then. Thank you James, for taking the time to teach me. Good night to you both.'' I cast a smile to both of them before leaving the diningroom. In my room though I rested myself against the door after closing it. This feeling that was in my chest made it hard for me to breathe and I wondered what it was. I only knew that it somehow felt painful.
