Chapter 25 ~ Damien route 8 ~ Words (un)spoken

In the backroom, Mika soon showed up with something to drink. When she asked what happened both Erik and Damien were unable to answer. When Waltz entered the room however later he noticed that James, Matthew and Sam were there too. ''We... called our brothers. I hope you do not mind...'' Erik said and Waltz shook his head. ''It concerns all of you. It is fine.'' he said. ''How is [___]?'' Sam asked Waltz and they looked at him with both fear and anticipation. ''She will be fine but has to rest now. She will probably not wake up for a day or so.'' he said as he sat down. ''I will understand any form of distrust towards me but I would like to ask not to draw conclusions until we're done. Understand one thing, there are some things I am not even supposed to share but to be honest, I am tired of hiding it. I however will have to ask you to leave Mika. Not because I do not want to keep you in the dark but you can not protect yourself against Angels enough yet. If what I am going to say gets out there will possibly be a witch hunt. '' He said. Mika smiled and nodded. ''I have spent enough time with you to know you are not one to tell lies. I will keep [___] company.'' she said and left. After she had, Sam looked skeptically at Waltz. ''What makes you think we actually trust you. You came out of nowhere offering help and you also suddenly happened to be [___]'s brother and are her mentor at the school she attends?'' he said. ''I understand what you are saying. But I had no idea that we were all talking about the same person the whole time...'' Waltz said. ''As I said before I will explain everything...'' he took a deep breath and rubbed his temples. ''Who are you exactly...'' Damien asked. ''My true name is Ezequiel. My second name is Waltz, a name [___] gave me when I moved to the human world a very long time ago. She decided to remain in the Demon world. We did speak on occasion and despite we did not see one another often we were close.'' he said and looked away for a moment. ''How did you ended up becoming [___]'s mentor?'' James asked. ''I felt her magic a long while back and wanted to see what brought her to the Human world. When I called for her she did not respond so I went to where I felt her energy. I felt remnants of both her magic but also that of devils. There was her blood, devil blood, demon blood. Whatever happened there, she was a part of it. I tried looking for her but something was off so I looked around and asked some of my contacts to help me find her as well. She was sighted a few times, mainly at a school and it was not hard to figure out she would be attending so after some... enthrallment and I made myself her mentor. When I saw her however I noticed something was off. She did not give me any sign of acknowledgement neither did she give off the magic energy she usually had. She had forgotten all about me but also herself. I wanted to watch over her so kept playing the role of her mentor, trying to figure out what she did know and not. Personality wise [___] was the same and it seemed that subconsciously there was a lot she did know. Seeing how happy she was though I did not want to risk losing destroying the new life she was building for herself.'' he explained. ''Why not just... visit us?'' Matthew asked. ''I tried. I got her address easily but when I got there I found it heavily protected with magic spells. Not that I couldn't, but I did not want to mess with that. However... I spoke to the spirit of the one who made those magic barriers and told me that [___] was safe and in good hands. The spirit was Mika's grandfather.'' Waltz said. ''Bullshit... Cassindra could get in.'' Sam said and Waltz nodded. ''And... [___] too.... We can not pretend we did not see it.'' Damien said. ''See what.'' James asked. ''[___] ... I am not sure what she is but she had both Angel wings and demon wings.'' Damien said making everyone look at Waltz. ''And you are her brother... you said that you and her were unique. Is that what you meant?'' Erik asked and Waltz nodded before he resumed the barrier issue. ''The wardings were intended against Angels and Hellborn magic. Fallen Angels have lost their connection with Heaven and are more considered Demons than Angels. My sister and I... have both Demon and Angel blood but I always had followed the path of Holy Magic more where my sister despite using both magics, prefered her Demon side. I haven't used or refilled my Demon energy in centuries so the barrier must have seen me as an Angel while seeing [___] and Cassindra as a Demon. Best way to find out is to ask the spirit of the Warlock to be sure although I do not think it is relevant.''
