Chapter 21 ~ Erik route 7 ~ Silence before the Storm

The following morning we were awoken by a knock on the door. I released a soft grunt, wanting to sleep longer. It had been ages ago since I last slept this good. ''Who is it?'' Erik asked. ''It is Dia... Azaeur. Can I come in?'' she asked. ''One moment.'' Erik replied who had been awoke way longer than I had. ''Don't leave...'' I whispered but he chuckled. ''I think I should Angel.'' he replied and I felt his lips on my temple before he got out of bed. He quickly put on his underwear and pants before opening the door. Azaeur met him with a smirk. ''Seems you two catched up. I did not interrupt anything I hope?'' she teased. ''No not at all.'' Erik answered as he let her in, closing the door behind her. ''I brought you both some food. Also, we need to talk. Is she awake?''

''I am awake...'' I said and stretched my body with a yawn before I got out of bed. Erik instantly blushed seeing my naked form but I was not going to wrap myself in the blanket. I put the clothes on I had been given the day before. Azaeur could only smile at Erik's expression. She handed us both a plate of food which I accepted without question. ''What is it you need to discuss.'' I asked before taking a bite of the bread.

''First of all. I find it brave of you to have revealed what you are. Waltz explained a couple of things about you. Regardless, we are still in a war. Erik, your brothers have already agreed to fight in it and bring an end to the Demonlord's reign. What will you do.'' she asked and crossed her arms. ''I will fight as well. I will have to train but that counts for my brothers now as well correct?'' he replied. Hearing that he and his brothers were going to fight formed a knot in my stomach.

''Yes. They are training as we speak even. Waltz found their fighting condition so horrible he is training them himself.''

Hearing that almost made me choke in my food. ''Waltz is training them?'' I was not sure if I had actually heard that right. ''You sound surprised.'' Azaeur replied. ''I had half expected that Waltz already left.'' I admitted. He was not one to meddle himself in other people's business. I was safe now which gave him no more reason to stay in this world ''Sam challenged and taunted him. Perhaps he decided to train them because of that.'' Azaeur speculated and I nodded. ''Sounds like him. He has been competitive since he was young. He and I fought one another for practise.'' the memory made a smile form on my face. ''I am going to fight too.'' I decided.

''What? But Angel...'' Erik started but I rose my hand. ''We can use all the fighters we can get. Mika has decided to fight too. I can feel her practising magic. I however am not a general or leader, so I shall follow orders instead.'' My gaze went to Azaeur. ''I will let those who give orders decide where to have me. I can use magic to support, or I will do close combat. One way or another the Demonlord is going to pay.''

''Glad to have you wish us. The rebellion exists out of two groups in case that if one group would fall the other could keep going. My father directs one from Keep of the Fallen, and I lead one here. Saero however has been in charge in the time I was looking after Mika. Since you both will be joining the fight, I do have something to add. [_2_], you single handedly destroyed a large part of the Demonlord's army but he has regrouped and formed new allies. You remember the Devils?''

''Although killing 2000 pig fauns is not exactly something worth getting a medal for, I am glad that for your family it made the difference. As for the devils, yes I remember them.'' I wished I had not met them to begin with and killed them the moment I reached the human world. ''The Demonlord has many devils recruited in his army. Promising one of them that he would conquer Hell for them, of course in exchange to aid in a war against Heaven. Is it true you are powerful enough to actually do that. Fight against the armies of Heaven and win?'' Azaeur asked.
