Chapter 47 | Another Fable Tale

A realm where fairy tale characters exist in harmony and hope. The realm of Fables is truly enchanting with its good-hearted beings that will light up everything wherever they would go. And the terrains in this realm looked like it came out from a fictional book. It is full of magic and light, but unfortunately, the darkness also dwells in this ethereal land. The Land of Fables is Ruby's home, she immensely enjoyed living near the Spellbind Forest during her childhood until something tragic happened. A horrid event that caused some errors inside her mind. She even forgot about one of her dearest best friends, Buttercup. Her golden, curly hairs looked like strings of, well...gold. While the color of her eyes is similar to the bright, blue sea. Buttercup truly looked like a doll with her naturally pink lips, rosy cheeks, and fair skin. In fact, Ruby and Buttercup almost looked like twins, and no, Ruby's other best friends' names aren't Blossom or Bubbles, or that new girl named Bliss that is so moody.

Today we're going to read another Fable character's chapter. It is sadly not a Ruby and Alucard chapter because that's another chapter soon to be written.

Far away from the Empire of Fables, to the south of the Moniyan. You'll find misty mountains that looked like crystals. In this location lies the hidden Swan Lake. It is named after the Swan Castle that is built on the lake's shores. Its structure standing great and tall with countless magical flowers surrounding it. The Castle, in fact, looked like a massive swan itself.

The royal family residing in this castle is the Regina Family. They are one of the famous families that dwells in the Realm of Fables with a rich history that contains your typical love story, except it has swans. The Regina Family fled away from the Empire of Fables' capital Lepidus to escape the political conflicts, they were afraid that a catastrophic war might happen between many Royal Families. And so, the royal family ran away before they could get sucked into the argument. After fleeing the capital, their fame and history from many fables' memories slowly disappeared as each generation passed by, and thus their existence became a myth.

Once Odette, the daughter of the current Swan Queen came into this world, a legend is born. People that work inside the Swan Castle would say that she is blessed by the Goddess of Nature, giving Odette an inescapable beauty, a wise mind, and a strong body to defend herself. These traits made Odette sound like she is a Goddess, but she is just your magical princess in her lonely castle.

Today is a special day for Odette, it is the day that she was born. Even though it is a special day for her, a gloomy expression stayed on her heavenly face. The delicious cakes and foods didn't make her hungry, and the glimmering and vibrant decorations didn't fill her body with excitement. Even the large and expensive gifts that are well presented didn't make her smile a bit. It isn't because she isn't contented on her birthday that looks marvelous. It is just because she doesn't have a person around her age to become friends with. When she became a young adult, Odette became saddened of how lonely she is, wondering how different her birthday would be from a birthday full of people and friends. Odette would often beg to her parents to let her set a foot outside of the forest that surrounded the castle and the lake, but they would always say no to her desperate begging. Instead of having a friend, she got a great wizard whose name is Winslow to teach her the powerful and hardest noble magics that a royal blooded fable must learn. Winslow is one of the ancients who are still a living legend, even though he isn't one of the Guardians in the Land of Dawn, he is most noticeably known for his great and powerful spells that defeated countless villains. Odette knows that she is lucky to have a great being to teach her magic if he wasn't so strict and cruel towards her most of the time. Although Winslow is a strict teacher, he can be funny and kind-hearted sometimes during Odette's practice so that she wouldn't cry or run away.

Odette walked into her bedroom, closing the down behind her. She looked at her bed, a lovely gown laying on top of the surface. Mother always makes me look like an adult wearing this dress, Odette said inside her mind, grumbling grumpily as she walked over to the gown. "Your Highness! May I come in to assist you?" A sudden female voice asked. Odette instantly recognized it as one of her friendly servants, Mathilde.
