Chapter 68 | Danger lies in the Future

"Can we take a quick look around of this place and then come back to this spot? I can't hold my excitement in!" Ruby squealed, her emerald eyes revealing immense joy. She certainly couldn't wait any longer to take a quick tour around the Headquarters. Her eyes silently gazing into a nearby group of Wolf Huntsmen and Huntresses who are talking about something that Ruby couldn't hear but ruffled voices. It's a good thing none of them realize that a girl in a red cloak was watching them in the distance, it would freak them out.

While Ruby is glad to see a bunch of Wolf Hunters her age, Alucard is just as glad as she is that this Headquarters wasn't notified that a fallen demon huntsman from the Headquarters of Demon Hunters with demonic powers got away. If Roger finds out, he'll certainly kill him in front of Ruby without a second thought or hesitation. He doesn't want the veteran wolf Huntsman to find out no matter what, for himself and Ruby. Alucard also certainly doesn't want to discover what Roger can do to him, and how powerful and savage he could get. He can use his secret against the wolf hunter. But he isn't that ruthless enough, is he?
   Alucard's worrisome thoughts slowly faded away, making him realize that he has grown quiet and didn't reply to Ruby yet. He ran his fingers through his hair and let out a soft sigh out of his lips. "Won't your father get mad if he sees that we're not here? He'll surely scold us." Alucard finally replied to the red hooded girl. The tone of his voice hinting that he doesn't want to get in trouble. She looked up at him, her face forming an adorable grumpy expression. "It'll be quick! I promise papa won't find out." Ruby quickly wrapped her arms around Alucard's arm. Pulling him towards to the group of young wolf Hunters that she was staring at from earlier. She was nervous like hell to suddenly jump into their space. Would it become awkward? She didn't want to ruin the first impression, it'll last forever in history. Ruby's expression didn't show that she's anxious, but her trembling arms did. Alucard noticed this and wanted to wrap an arm around her and pull her close against his firm body. But he's afraid that Roger will see him and chase him until he has bitten his leg off. Such a horrible, vivid thought almost made him shiver in fear.

All though fear weighs down Ruby's body, she greeted with confidence. "Hello! We're new here."  The group of young wolf Hunters turned around to look at the two. Their faces all smiling so sincerely, such a lovely welcoming. "New Hunters! What brings you here?" One of the Hunters asked. They were a youthful Huntress with eyes that looked like diamonds. "My papa brought us here! He decided that we should live here and he's going to train me into a great wolf Huntress!" Ruby answered, very enthusiastic and passionate. She hoped deeply to make her dream of becoming a great wolf Huntress into a reality and make Roger so proud. Even if it takes years and hardship of doing so, she won't give up and her hatred for wolves will never end. And if times get rough, she has Alucard to cheer her up. "That's great! I like determined Hunters," Another Hunter spoke, a Huntsman that looked quite strong because of his muscles and didn't look any older than twenty. His animal-like eyes turning towards to Alucard to look at him as if he was a weak prey. Such terrifying eyes from a young huntsman that it gave Alucard slight shivers down his spine. He felt like a threat, an animal looking down upon its food. His demonic arm throbbing painfully in such a terrible time. But he held that pain in. "Are you here to become a wolf hunter as well?" The hunter with the animal eyes asked Alucard in a rather dull and quite bored voice. Was he intimidating him? He's quite sweet looking towards Ruby, but when he interacts with Alucard. He began to act a bit distant and cold. "No, I'm a demon huntsman." He answered, almost gulping the word demon huntsman. It felt bitter in his mouth and pierced his heart. He could've lied to them, but it would've been risky. Not because Ruby is beside him, but because they might find out who he truly is. "Wow, never met a demon Huntsman before. My name is Jack by the way, and this lovely looking Huntress that spoke to your girlfriend is Ellewyn." The young Huntsman-Jack revealed his name as well as the Huntress who asked Ruby a question from earlier. His attitude shifting quicker than the breezy wind.
