Chapter V | The light inside the darkness

The Elven king Estes sat upon his bed. His body covered in bandages.
He hung his head in utter disappointment and guilt. His people have failed to win against the dark force and caused a great impact on the Emerald Woodland.

The Blood Queen, Alice. Managed to disable him from using two of his powers from the Code of Moonlight after the fight. Before he could have been killed by the villainous woman. The moonlight archer, Miya, saved him from the upcoming doom.

Estes hasn't recovered ever since. He couldn't heal his wounds nor heal his people's wounds. He was too weak to do it, or Alice has disabled him permanently from using the Code of Moonlight. He shivered at the thought of it.

"King Estes?" A woman voice called, it was Miya's. Estes looked at the wooden door and got up. He walked towards the door to open it. "Hello, Miya." Estes greeted in a calm and gentle voice. "Does your injuries continue to pain, my king?" Miya asked she was obviously concerned. "I am quite fine. The injuries still pain me, but I will be all right." Estes answered. He always tries to make people calm down and successfully does. "Support will be here soon, my king," Miya informed. "A healer from the heavens and the son of the Great Dragon." She continued on. Estes smiled at the great news. "That's wonderful. Are my people safe and sound?" Estes asked, his smile quickly fading away from the memories of his people being killed by the Blood Queen's slaves. "They are all right, my king. Alive, but injured," Miya answered. "Do you need anything else, my king?"
"I just need some rest. You do as well, I appreciate your great strength and bravery during the battle." Estes said.
Miya formed a bright smile. "You are most welcomed, my king," She said in a jolly tone. "I shall now take my leave, my king." Miya bowed down to Estes, before leaving.

Nightfall fell upon the Emerald Woodland. Estes was standing behind his wooden desk, reading multiple books about the Code of Moonlight about being disabled from using two of his powers from the Code of Moonlight. Unfortunately, he couldn't find anything. Estes let out a tired sigh and sat down on his chair. Looking at the large window in front of him.

The night sky was being glittered by the bright stars. The full moon illuminating the darkness. A lovely and peaceful scenery to look at. Until Estes saw something that is blocking it.

A shadowy elf figure landed on the large window's sill. Its body shape told him that it is a female elf. But this elf is not like him. "Hello, elven king." The female elf spoke, her voice rather sharp. Estes stood out of his chair, glancing at the shadowy female elf. "What do you want?" He asked. But the female elf only let out a chuckle. "You don't need to know that." She took two steps forward. Her eyes emitting a soft glow of red, similar to the eyes of Alice's slaves. Estes did not let his guard down and not let himself be afraid. He now already knows what the female elf is. "You're a night elf. Aren't you?" Estes questioned. The female elf nodded as her answer. "I am Karina. The Shadow Blade," Karina formed a small grin after introducing herself. "The Blood Queen has requested me to assassinate you, elven king. Do you accept your fate?"
"Never," Estes answered harshly. Not taking his eyes off the night elf as she can disappear at any moment. The only plan Estes got now is to take Karina's blades away from her, then she'll be defenseless.

Karina's swift movement from her first skill made her look like she disappeared from thin air. She quickly ran towards to Estes. But he is too smart for her.

A sudden flood of Moonlight fell upon Karina. She groaned slightly in pain as she dealt some damage. The flood of Moonlight soon turned into a Domain of Moon Goddess. It decreased her movement speed while she was inside, making her visible. "I was told you weren't able to use all of your powers.." Karina growled.
"Well. You've been lied," Estes smiled a bit. "I am injured. But I am still strong." He added in a casual tone. Showing that he isn't afraid of her.

As Estes made his escape. The Domain of Moon Goddess faded away. Karina is now able to make herself invisible from her first skill and ran straight towards to Estes once again.

Estes couldn't run away fast due to his injuries, and so Karina is able to catch up easily. "I've got you." She said under her breath as she grinned deviously. Karina locked into Estes and used her ultimate, shadow rush.

Suddenly, the Code of Moonlight linked itself to Estes and Karina. It healed Estes before he could have been completely killed. As for Karina. Her eyes faded into a beautiful color of amethyst.

They collided into one another and collapsed. Their faces were rather close, almost touching. They could feel each other's warmth and breath, and it stayed like this for short period of time.
