Chapter 61 | Unexpected

Sorry for this Delayed Chapter, because I made it so long and I was doing a marathon Chinese Drama yesterday. XD

After going downstairs after stairs. Ruby felt exhausted and wanted to collapse to her knees. She groaned, still frustrated why the elevators have been shut down! Unfortunately, they don't have any portal ball to get back home and they're definitely not staying long and go to the nearest safe center. Roger isn't taking a risk and let Ruby and Alucard stay here any longer, so he bribed the guards earlier to allow them to use the Great Dimensions Hall to escape. Specific reasons why everyone can't use the Hall is because it all leads to the domain of every ruler there is. It also includes Headquarters of many realms and huntsmen and huntresses. A spy can easily use this Hall to get to their targets in an instant or lead an army straight inside their enemy's domain without attacking its protection. But Roger is a well known Wolf Huntsman, his identity is known through many realms. That is why he got invited to train the protectors that are competing in the Tournament, which has now been canceled.

"Follow me obediently and don't run off. There might be enemies nearby." Roger said, fully alert and cautious as if he was stuck in a deadly situation. Ruby and Alucard nodded as their reply. Seeing that Roger is deathly serious, they began to walk again.

As they walked towards to the Great Dimensions Hall. Ruby's legs suddenly gave out and made her collapse. Fortunately for her, Alucard instantly dropped his sword and with his outstanding reflexes, is able to catch Ruby in time. "C-Can't walk! Legs to-too tired!" Ruby panted heavily, her legs slightly twitching. She wanted to rest, but if they stop the portals in the Great Dimensions Hall might close to avoid anyone suspicious from using it. "Don't worry, I'll carry you." Alucard cooed, his voice quite alluring that it made Ruby's heart skip a beat. His face was close to hers, their eyes locking and their body warmth clashing each other.

It could have lasted longer until suddenly Roger came over and carried Ruby on his back instead. "You look like you're about to collapse too, Alucard. Let me take care of Ruby, she is my daughter...After all." Roger said, bitterness and a slight hint of anger in his two last words. Alucard felt shivers after hearing him spoke. He felt like he was about to get eaten by a wolf! But he knows that Roger will never dare do that. You're not letting me get close to her, aren't you? Alucard said inside his mind, picking his sword up that he dropped from earlier and began to walk towards to the Great Dimensions Hall with Roger. He understands that he's strict and is very overprotective of Ruby. Roger only wants the best for his daughter and he still doesn't see Alucard as the best man for her.

Alucard is cursed by a demon, a demon that is unpredictable and dangerous that Alucard is currently unable to control it. From earlier Roger felt strange energy lingering in the room, this energy felt similar to when his curse takes over him. He can easily tell when a person is lying and he knew that Alucard was not sincere answering his questions. Roger played along for a moment if it weren't for Ruby suddenly interrupting them. Alucard would have spilled the beans.

Once they arrived in front of the large doors of the Great Dimensions Hall, they heard a loud cry of a woman. "H-He...He's dead! My lover is dead! You killed him!" Rafaela cried harder than before, tears continuously dropping down to her face. She cried so hard in fact that her eyes became red like a rabbit. "I only trapped him, I did not say that I will execute him. I have different types of ice. This ice is not an ordinary one. It keeps a living thing inside alive." Aurora said, her voice cold that she sounded like she did not care that Rafaela was crying when in truth she does care. She merely did not want to show it.
