Freya looked weakly at Argus, a bitter smile painted on her lips. "Take care of little teddy bear..." After saying that, the fallen war angel stabbed the War Goddess' chest instead of slicing her throat.

She let out her last breath before falling limp on the floor, her eyes turning blank and lifeless. Argus, suddenly felt sorrow crawl on his soul, the demon inside him unable to comprehend this moment.

They were actually experiencing something humane?

Oddly enough, he silently just stood there and decided to spare a couple of minutes. The demon didn't know why, but they were beginning to lose control.

They decided to check something, but before they could even make a move a flood of pain captured his heart and his body decided to crouch down.

Not knowing why this suddenly happened for some unknown reason, the demon was baffled while they watched Argus' hand travel towards Freya's eyes, his fingers gently closing them shut.

Now that he was currently focusing on her more, she actually looked gorgeous under the streaks of light that passed through the cracks and creaks of the ceiling. He didn't take notice until now that not only did their fight cause destruction on this particular hall's floors and walls, it also caused the ceiling to take damage.

Without any warning, the fallen war angel suddenly felt a piercing and unbearable pain throughout his chest.

Argus clenched his jaw tightly, both of his hands balling into a tight fist that was so hard that his claws dug through his skin, causing blood to come out.

He waited for a few minutes, hoping that the unknown pain would fade away. But to his terror and surprise, it only intensified and caused him to cough up blood. Fortunately, it landed on the ground and not on Freya who was lying close beside him.

The demon was extremely furious about why the body was starting to act against their own will!

"I'll not let you get out of your cage!" The demon yelled through Argus' clenched teeth, trying to appease the pain with something but he received no avail over this situation.

He could only watch the demonic sword that was under his tight grip beginning to shake, its existence starting to turn into fragments.

The demon was shocked as if lightning has hit them. "No! This can't be!" They said furiously, angry at themselves for being helpless during this critical moment.

After the demonic sword has disintegrated into oblivion, the demon let out a piercing scream before falling into the void of nothingness.

Argus' soul was finally freed from the chains and cage that was his own vessel. He was in a deep and unshakable slumber until Freya's strong light that she left for him broke his sleep.

To his luck, his limited perimeters were weakening over the past years, allowing the light to take an advantage.

He only felt sorrow for the longest time. A nightmare about his most beloved friend dying under his own hands.

What he would never expect that the nightmare actually happened.

Argus saw Freya laying on the floor, blood spilling out of her wounds and scratches all over her body. At an instant, tears fell down from his face. "I've...I've failed you, I'm so sorry, Freya..." He sobbed softly, wishing he can rewind time.

He let the thirst for power get the best of him, allowing a powerful demon take over his body.

Argus didn't know how many lives that demon has taken over the past years, and now Freya has become their last victim. If he had taken control sooner, this wouldn't have happened. Sadly, it's too late now and he can only carry the guilt and sorrow on his back.
