Niall's POV

Y/n was at work and I was home with our 3 year old daughter, Amelia.

"Daddy!" Amelia yelled running into the room with her paper and pencils.
"Yeah princess?" I asked.
"Can you show me how to write my name?" She asked.

"Of course darlin' lets go to the table" I said.
We walked into the dining room and sat down at the table.

Amelia put her paper and pencils down.

"Right, So first, What's your name baby?" I asked.
"Amelia Rose Horan" She said.

"Right So I'll write it first then you can try" I said and she gave me the pencil . I wrote her name down so she could read it.

I gave her the pencil and she copied it down.

"Should we try it without my help?" I asked and she nodded.
I turned the paper over and she began to write.
She got to the e on her first name and then got stuck.

Tears welled up in her eyes.
"I stupid daddy"she sobbed.
"I can't write my name!" She cried.

"Baby girl, you aren't stupid. You're only 3, lots of children you're age still can't write their name but you can already read which is amazing. And you've done well at trying to write your name. Keep practicing and you'll get it perfect" I said hugging her and giving her a kiss on her cheek.

"So why don't you try again princess?" I asked giving her the pencil. She smiled and sniffled, taking the pencil from me.

She tried multiple times and she finally got it right.

"See! I told you , you could do it princess! I'm so proud of you baby!" I said picking her up and spinning her around as she giggled.
I gave her kisses all over her face before putting her down.

We heard the door open and went to the hallway to greet y/n.

"Guess which little girl can write her name" I said to y/n. She smiled.
"Oh I don't know" she said playing along.
"Me!" Amelia yelled.
"Amelia write her name!" Amelia said.
"Well done gorgeous! I'm so proud of you!" She said.

Amelia ran off into the living room.
"How did you teach her? I tried teaching her last week but she couldn't do it" she said.
I shrugged.
"I wrote it, she copied it and then I turned the paper over so she could do it herself. She couldn't at first and we did have some tears but I told her practice makes perfect. So I encouraged her to keep trying and she did and eventually understood it"
