#188 Telling your kids about your other child

Niall and I have 4 children together. However, one of them isn't here.

"Where's the kids?" Niall asked entering the room and hugging me from behind.
I turned around and pecked his lips.
"Isabelle and Ethan are upstairs looking through old photos and Isla is right there enjoying some fruit" I said glancing at my 10 month old daughter who was happily eating her fruit.

"Adadda!" Isla said happily.
"Hello baby girl!" Niall said in a baby voice.
He picked her up out of her high chair and held her on his hip.
She started making gurgling noises as she reached up and played with Nialls hair.

"She's fascinated with your hair" I mumbled and Niall chuckled.
"Amelia was too" Niall whispered and I nodded sadly.

"Mummy? Daddy?" Our 7 year old daughter, Isabelle, yelled.
Niall and I went upstairs into our bedroom which is where they were.
They were sat on the bed looking through our family photo albums.

"What is it you two?" Niall asked as we sat on our bed with them. Niall put Isla on his lap.

"Mummy, daddy, who's that?" Our 5 year old son, Ethan , asked.
We looked at the picture and glanced at each other.
It was a photo of me, Niall , Amelia and Isabelle when she was a newborn.

"That's your big sister" I whispered.
"Big sister?" They asked simultaneously.
"Yeah, you had a big sister" i said.
"Where is She now?" Isabelle asked.
I sighed, we had to tell them.

"Her name was Amelia Grace Horan" I told them.
"When Amelia was 6 and Isabelle was a newborn baby, Amelia became really sick. She had a disease called Cancer. The cancer she had was very rare which means not people get it. So it was very hard to treat. After a few months Amelia sadly passed away because of the disease , Isabelle was only 6 months old when this happened which is why you don't remember her" Niall explained sadly.
"How old would she be now daddy?" Ethan asked.
"She would be 13 now, she would've been a teenager" Niall said , a smile coming to his face as he thought of all the memories he had of Amelia .
"Can we go visit her?" Ethan asked.
"Sure buddy, next time me and your mummy visit her grave you can come with us" Niall said.
