#38 Your children walk in on you having a bath together

I yawned as I sat up in bed and rubbed my eyes. I checked the time, 6:30. I have gotten used to getting up early since having the twins who are now 3. Ethan and Aaliyah usually wake us up by running in our room and jumping on the bed at 7:30, very rarely a little later than this.

I glanced at my sleeping husband. His brown hair all messed up, his lips parted as soft snores left them.
He came home from tour a few weeks ago, and when he did he looked so tired , he had bags under his eyes from all the sleepless night of writing and recording but now he was back to his old self.

"Morning love" he grumbled as he sat up next to me.
"Good morning Nialler" I replied kissing his lips.
"What time is it?" He asked in his deep morning voice which I love.
"6:30 so we have around an hour before the twins wake up" I said.
"I know what we could do" He said.
"No" I said smiling slightly as I thought of what he might be thinking.
"I didn't mean that I meant lets have a bubble bath, relax a little before the two little munchkins wake up" he said.
I thought for a moment and agreed.

Niall went into our en suite and began to run the bath, adding some bubbles to it.
Niall and I rarely get time where it is just us two so when we do we make sure to cherish it.

Once the bath was full Niall climbed in first and then me second . I laid back into his chest and he wrapped his arms around my stomach.

We had a pretty deep bath and I was leaned back so the water was up to my collar bone and a few inches below Niall's collar bone.

He played with my hair as we relaxed in the bubbles.

"It's been so long since we've done this" I said and Niall agreed.
"It has, i love the kids so much but I love it when we finally get some time alone" Niall said.

The door suddenly creaked open and our two 3 year olds entered the bathroom. They didn't care about the fact that they were invading our privacy, they're 3, they don't know any better.

"Daddy why are you and mummy in the bath together?" Aaliyah asked.
"Yeah why are you in the bath together?" Ethan said.
The water covered everything so the kids couldn't see anything they shouldn't.

"To save water, now go downstairs and close the bathroom door behind you, me and mummy will be down in a minute" Niall told them.
"Okay" they said in unison and ran downstairs closing the bathroom door behind them.

Niall and I got out the bath and got dressed.
"Well at least we had a little alone time" I sighed.
"I know, how about I ask my mum to have them tonight? And then it'll just be me and you" Niall suggested.
"Really?" I asked and he nodded.
"Yeah, my mum loves having the twins over" he said and I smiled kissing his lips.

We left the bathroom and went downstairs.

"What do you want for breakfast kiddos?" Niall asked our son and daughter.
"Bacon and pancakes!" Aaliyah yelled enthusiastically.
"And Eggs and sausages!" Ethan added with the same amount of enthusiasm .
Niall obliged. He made me a cup of tea first and I smiled at him as he gave it to me.
He then started to make a full English breakfast( if you don't know what this is google it) for us all.

He served breakfast and made himself a cup of tea and made the kids some orange juice. We all sat down and ate our breakfast.
"Do you two want to stay at grandmas tonight?" I asked them.
They both nodded eagerly.
"Which grandma? Mummy's mummy or daddy's mummy?" Aaliyah asked.
"Grandma Mauras so daddy's mummy" I told them.
"Yay! I like grandma Maura! She gives us cookies and makes really good food!" Ethan exclaimed.
"What about my cooking? I make good food!" Niall said trying to act shocked. Ethan giggled.
"I know but grandmas makes better food than you daddy" Ethan said.
"Daddy you make better cupcakes than grandma though" Aaliyah said to cheer her daddy up since she actually did think he was upset even though he was faking it.
"Aww thanks princess" Niall said giving Aaliyah a high five
