Isabelle's  pov

I was walking home from school, usually my mum or dad would pick me up. Today my dad couldn't because he's at the studio so my mum was supposed to but she didn't for some reason and she didn't think of texting me to tell me. I doubt she would've picked Ethan up either so I guess I have to make a stop at his school to get him.

"Wasn't mum supposed to pick us up today?" Ethan asked as we walked home.
"Yep, But she's not, she didn't even text me saying that I had to walk , so I thought you'd still be stuck in school too so I came to get you" I told him.
"Thanks issy, it's so boring being stuck in school when everyone's gone home" he said.
"I know" I said.
"If it was dad that was picking us up he'd get there early" he said.

We arrived home and walked into our house. My dads car wasn't on the drive but my mums was and there was an unfamiliar car parked in front of our house.

We went into the living room and gasped at the sight. My mum, kissing a man that wasn't my dad.
"Mum! What do you think you're doing!" Ethan yelled.
They broke apart and stared at us with wide eyes.
The man left the house quickly.
"Look kids, I can explain it wasn't what it looked like" she said.
"Wasn't what it looked like! You were kissing someone that wasn't dad!" I yelled.
"Just wait until daddy finds out!" I spat as me and Ethan went upstairs.

"Has the bad man gone?" I heard Aaliyah ask. I walked into the room she was in , she was in Isla's room.
Isla was stuck in the cot and Aaliyah was stood next to the cot keeping her company.
"Yeah, why are you up here?" Ethan asked.
"Mummy put Isla in the cot because the man came and she told me to stay upstairs and not tell daddy" she explained.

"I need to call daddy" I muttered.
"Stay with them Ethan" I said leaving the room.
I went into my bedroom and got my phone.

My phone rang and a picture came up of me and my dad.
I answered immediately.

"Hi daddy" I said.
"Hey princess, did you get home from school okay?" He asked.
"Yeah but I had to walk and pick Ethan up" I told him.
"Why babe? I thought mum was picking you up?" He said.
"I did too but she didn't turn up or text me so I started walking and I figured Ethan hadn't been picked up either so I went to get him" I explained.
"I'm sorry you had to walk princess your mum promised she'd pick you up but anyway what did you want to talk about?" He asked.
"It's sort of got something to do with that" I said.
"I'm listening, Harry shut up!" I heard him say and I giggled.
"Your uncles are stupid" he muttered. I heard a door shut and I guess he went to a different room.
"Anyway, go ahead and tell me princess" he said.
"Well when Ethan and I got home we saw mum and she was kissing another man, she told us it wasn't what it looked like but it was and she told us not to tell you but i can't keep this a secret, you deserve to know" I explained.
He was silent for a while.
"Where was Aaliyah and Isla when this was happening?" He asked.
"Aaliyah told me that mum put Isla in the cot and then told her to stay upstairs and not tell you or something" I told him.
"So she left my little girls unattended and left you and Ethan at school to kiss some man!" He said sounded angry.
"Yeah" I whispered .
"Princess, just look after your brother and sister, I'll be home as soon as possible, also pack an other night bag, we will go to grandmas" he said.
"Okay , bye daddy, I love you" I said.
"I love you too princess" he said ending the call.
I made an other night bag that contained clothes for me, Ethan, Aaliyah and Isla.

"You better have not told your dad" I heard my mum yell up to us.
She then stormed upstairs and into Isla's nursery which is where all of us where.
"If you've told your dad, I mean it Isabelle!" She yelled at me.
"So what if I've told him! You can't cheat!" I shouted at her.
"Well I have you little brat!" She said walking towards me until I hit the wall and she was in front of me.
"And you want to know something, your daddy's not here to waltz in and save the day because he has better things to do than help a little spoilt brat like you!" She said raising her hand about to hit me. My eyes checked shut waiting for it.
"Actually! Daddy is here to waltz in and save the day" my dad said sarcastically.
"Now , sorry for swearing, but get the fuck away from my daughter and don't you dare raise your hand at her" he said angrily.
"She's my daughter too, I gave birth to her" my mum spat.
"Actually giving birth doesn't make you a mother, being there for your child makes you a mother which you haven't done! You shoved two of my children in a bedroom while you were kissing another man! Those kids are 3 and 1 anything could've happened! And then what did you do? You left my other two kids at school to walk home alone , anything could've happened then! You are no mother to these kids y/n" my dad said speaking the truth.
My mum was speechless for a while.
"You've ruined our marriage! You little brats! You'll get what's coming to you!" She yelled storming towards me and Ethan.
"I think you did that yourself! You know when you went and kissed another men and left your kids!" Ethan yelled angrily.
"Shut up ethan! Who are you to tell me what's I've done wrong! You're a stupid little 9 year old that has no life! You'll never get married!" She yelled.
"Don't talk to my son that way!" My dad yelled.
"He's 10 Actually, But you wouldn't know that! You are pathetic y/n! It's over, you can have the house and everything in it but you won't be seeing any of us again! Whatever you do, stay away and learn how to talk to people! I will never talk to my kids the way you have!" My dad yelled angrily.

He picked Isla up, holding her on his hip and then Aaliyah grabbed his hand.
"C'mon kids, have you got you're overnight bags?" He asked and we nodded.
"Bye y/n have a nice life without us!" My dad said and slammed the door as we left.

Isabelle's pov

"Niall? What are you all doing here? Where's y/n?" Grandma asked.
"It's over Mum, she's changed" my dad said .
"What? Really? But you were so happy together?" She said.
"Exactly , we were" He said.
He set a sleeping Isla down on the sofa. And Aaliyah sat down next to her.

"Isabelle, can you take your sisters to bed please? The guest room is ready and there's a cot in there for Isla, you and Aaliyah will have to share the double bed and Ethan can have the single bed" grandma said and I nodded.
I picked Isla up and Ethan held Aaliyah's hand.

We led them upstairs and got them changed. We all climbed into bed, and everyone fell asleep but me.
I decided to go downstairs to get a warm glass of milk.

I stopped when I got to the bottom of the stairs and I heard my dad crying.

I went into the living room and saw my dad crying and grandma comforting him.

Grandma noticed me and stood up.
"He's really upset, I'll make you some warm milk, just sit with him issy, you always make him feel better" grandma said and I nodded.

I sat down next to my dad.
"You might think I'm stupid for crying but I've been with your mum for 17 years, I do love her but I can't stand her either" he said.
"It's not stupid dad, you're obviously going to be upset but just think, it's for the best" I whispered.
He smiled and pulled me into his chest and wrapped his arms around me . I loved cuddling with my dad.
"What would I do without you princess,  thank you for telling me about what mums done, thanks for helping with Aaliyah and Isla and thank you for picking Ethan up. I don't thank you enough for what you do to help. You're always helping around the house and you're always standing up for there like today you nearly got hit because you were defending me" he said.
"Well I'm your daughter, what daughter wouldn't defend their dad especially if their dad is as good as mine" I said and he smiled kissing my cheek.
"I love you daddy" I whispered hugging him.
"I love you too baby, you and Ethan have helped me a lot today and I can't thank you both enough" he said kissing my cheek again.
