Nialls pov

Y/n was staying over her parents house with our 7 year old son, Ethan and 3 year old daughter , Aaliyah, so I was home with our 14 year old daughter, Isla.

However she still isn't home yet, I told her that she had to be home by 9pm and it is now 11:30 and I was getting pretty worried.
I've also tried calling and texting her but she hasn't replied.

I heard the door open and someone stumble.
I stood up and walked into the hallway folding my arms over my chest.
She had clearly drank alcohol.

"Oh dad, I didn't think you'd be up" she said .
"I told you to be home for 9 not 11:30" I said with my arms still folded.
"Sorry I just lost track of time , it happens" she said hanging her coat up.
"You lost track of time? So you didn't check your phone for 2 and a half hours? You didn't hear your phone when I was calling and texting you?" I said.
I knew what she'd done but I wanted her to admit it.
"Well yeah, we were listening to music and singing along so I didn't use it" she said going into the living room.

I followed her.
"Are you sure?" I asked and she nodded.
"Why would I lie?" She said.
"Well, Isla, I can smell alcohol on you" I stayed.
Her face paled and she quickly came up with an excuse.
"Well I don't know why because I haven't drank" she said.
I gave her a look.

"Listen dad! I said I didn't drink, can't you just trust me for once!" She yelled.
"Don't raise your voice at me" I said sternly.
"Well then stop accusing me of drinking!" She argued.
"Isla Rose Horan, in case you didn't know I have drank before, specifically when I was 18,19,20,21 , and the alcohol I smell on you is exactly what your uncle Harry used to drink and to smell of it you have to drink it" I said.
"Maybe one of my friends drank or something but I haven't!" She said.
"Oh really Isla? Why don't you look me in the eyes and tell me that" I said.
She looked me in the eyes.
"I don't drink any alcohol" she said , her pupils dilating so I could barely see the light blue.
"I know when you're lying , Isla, I know you better than anyone else" I smirked.
"Come on then dad, tell me your fabulous ways of knowing if I'm lying and also mum probably knows me better" she said and I raised my eyebrows.
"Well when you lie your pupils dilate, I noticed that when you were around 2, and trust me I do know you best, everything you tell your mum, she tells me, and I know a lot that you probably wouldn't want me to know too Isla" I said.
"Like what?" She challenged.
"You had a crush on a boy in your science class,   As much as you say you hate it you actually like spending time with Theo, you google some weird stuff on your phone such as why do we have 4 fingers and a thumb and I also know that you have drank tonight Isla" I said.
"But I-" she said.
"Trust me I know Isla, and I just want you to admit your mistakes" I interrupted.

"Fine! You win! I did drink a little! But please don't tell mum and don't get mad at me" she said.
I chuckled.
"You think I'm mad about it?" I asked her wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
"Well yeah" she mumbled.
"Don't worry princess" I said pulling her into my chest.
"I'm a little disappointed that you did it behind my back but you're 14. I've got to accept that you're growing up and will want to try new things. I did the exact same at your age and honestly if I had to pick between you drinking in front of me or behind my back I would much rather watch you drink as I know you're safe" I explained.
"I won't do it again, it wasn't that good anyways" she said.
"Just wait until you try Guinness. You're Irish so you'll love it but you're only trying it when you're 18"
