#108 Sibling Rivalry

Niall and I have two children together, twins, Ethan and Aaliyah who are both 5 years old.
Recently they've been fighting and hitting each other a lot. Niall and I have no idea why as usually they are playing happily together.

I was in the kitchen cooking dinner while Niall was in the living room with the kids.

"Aaliyah Grace Horan! Get off your brother right now!" I heard Niall yell loudly.

I walked into the living room to see what was happening.
Ethan was crying and Niall was cuddling him and Aaliyah was sat in the chair on the counter that we use when they're naughty, she was also sobbing.

"What happened?" I asked Niall.
"I went to the Toilet and when I came back , Aaliyah was hitting Ethan and pulling his hair while he was crying for her to stop and when I told her to stop she didn't listen and she swore so I shouted at her and put her on the naughty chair" Niall explained while soothing our son.
"Schools gonna be wondering where he got the bruises from" I muttered.
"Don't worry baby, I'm sure school understands that sibling dog always get a long" he said.

Niall's POV

Ethan had fallen asleep cuddled up to me. I carefully picked him up.
"Don't move" I told Aaliyah sternly , she was still sobbing and I must admit I did feel guilty.

I walked upstairs and took Ethan into his bedroom.
I lied him down on his bed and tucked him in.
"Have a nice nap buddy, I love you" I whispered kissing his forehead.

I returned to the living room and Aaliyah was still crying.

I bent down in front of her and placed my hands on her knees.

She looked at me, tears still escaping her eyes and sobs leaving her mouth.

"I sorry daddy" she sobbed.
"It's okay baby, you need to apologise to Ethan when he wakes up though" I told her.

She nodded and lunged herself forward, wrapping her arms around me.
"Does Ethie hate me?" She asked.
"Of course not!" I said.
"But I hurt him" she said.
"Siblings always fight with each other, even though they love each other. When I was little I always used to fight with uncle Greg" I told her.
