Love Is Like Magic

We cuddled under the sunset. I've never thought that Hayley really had a tragic past. How come i've never learned about this before? How come the people never knew this? Now I understood everything.

The Knight Industries was created to honor Devon Walker's memory. Hayley Knight was the caring and heroic person that turned heartless and hard headed, all because she can't move on from her past. Her burdened past turned her into a cold hearted person.

I'm the man that Devon promised her. And i'm not going to let him down. I will love Hayley as much as Devon loves her. I will make her believe that love really exists.

"Now I understood why you dedicated me the song Iris." I said.

Hayley nodded and smiled.

"I'm glad you figured it out." Hayley said and kissed my forehead.

"I do have one question, babe?" I asked.

"What?"

"What if your father asks for your forgiveness?" I asked.

Hayley didn't answer for a couple of seconds. She looked at the sky and breathed heavily.

"I don't think i'll accept it." Hayley seriously said.

"Everyone deserves forgiveness."

"I know. But what he did was enough for me to hate him forever. He killed everyone that cared for me, Robert."

I looked at the grass and didn't respond. What Hayley said was true. Killing Devon and Paul was really unforgivable. But what if her father wants to ask for her forgiveness?

"This is also one of the reasons why I don't want to admit my feelings for you, Robert." Hayley said.

I looked at her and waited for her to continue.

"I don't want him to learn about us. I don't want him to hurt you."

"He won't, baby. There's no reason to be scared. As long as i'm here, no one will hurt you." I said and I held her hands.

"He left me this scar as a reminder of his abusiveness." Hayley said.

She showed me her head and I saw a deep scar on the left side of it. I never saw it before because it was hidden in her hair.

"What happened?" I said putting my arms around her.

"It was a metal rod."

I feel sorry for Hayley. Her pain is my pain. I felt sadness when I heard about her scar.

"He won't hurt you again, baby. As long as i'm here with you." I said.

"Why don't you hate me, Robert?" Hayley said looking at me.

"Hate you? Never." I said confusingly.

"I did terrible things to you. You almost died because of me."

"I'll do everything for you, Hayley." I said.

"I don't deserve love, Robert."

"Everyone deserves love."

"Everyone except me. Look what I did to you. I played with your feelings, I acted like you're just a toy, I made you cry a lot of times and you almost froze to death because of me." Hayley said without looking at me.

"There's no perfect relationship, but it's our choice if we'll accept each other's flaws and mistakes to make it perfect."

She didn't respond. She just looked at me and smiled.

"You're stuck in that labyrinth your whole life, Hayley. And you don't have to be a prisoner of it. Let go and the future will make you forget about everything." I said.

"It's just... I-I killed a lot of people. I have bloody hands, Robert. I don't deserve happiness. I deserve sorrow and pain."

"You killed them because it's the right thing to do." I comforted.

"But I don't want to let go."

"Maybe you don't want to. But you need to. Devon will be happy if you'll let go."

My eyes became watery again. Hayley doesn't deserve pain. She deserves to be loved. Her friends and her people are the only family that she have. She deserves happiness.

"There are no happy endings, Robert."

"Yes there is. You just need to believe in it."

She sighed and looked far away. Like she's visualizing everything that I said. I put her hand in my chest so she will feel my heartbeat.

"Love is like magic, Hayley. You will never see the beauty of it unless you believe."

Hayley looked at me and smiled. Her tears fell down. I wiped it and kissed her forehead.

"You have to know that you are the reason why I stopped doing drugs." I confessed.

She looked at me confusingly. "Why me?" She asked.

"Because you became my dream. And I believed that someday, i'll do great things that'll make you notice me. I believed in love."

"And your dreams came true." Hayley said and smirked.

"Yes." I smirked back.

We chuckled and looked back in the sunset.

"I love you so much, Mrs. Downey." I said.

"Don't call me that." Hayley said and pinched my belly lightly.

"I love you so much, Ms. Knight." I said.

"I love you too, Mr. Downey." Hayley said.

Our lips touched. Loving Hayley is one of the best things i've ever did in my life. I learned a lot of things from her. Destiny brought us together.

She pulled back and our foreheads and noses touch. Her shattered green eyes are now glowing. It's now full of life.

"You never felt the love of a father and a mother. I think it's time for you to feel it." I said and stood up.

I offered her my hand and I stood her up. I pulled her.

"Where are we going?" She asked confusingly.

"You'll see." I excitedly said.
