Chapter 11.5

Eleven and a Half

The bell rings. Camila patiently waiting outside Kyung Mi's classroom. The school didn't allow Camila to enroll this year as the enrollment is already closed. Camila has no choice but to stay at the hall for Kyung Mi. That's the nearest she can get while Kyung Mi is in school. To kill some time while waiting for Kyung Mi, Camila sitting on a bench at the hallway, doodling on her notebook. She also carries a backpack on her to pretend as a student. One day while doodling, Camila heard a loud bang of the door. It echoes on the hallway and it panicked her. It was Kyung Mi running from her classroom towards Camila. Kyung Mi has her backpack on her while talking someone from the phone. Camila stood up and wondered what happened. Shit don't tell me the eruos attacked inside her classroom? Camila, her heart pounding while Kyung Mi is getting near her. She couldn't wait and so Camila also run towards Kyung Mi, meeting her halfway the hallway.

 "What's wrong? What happened?" Camila immediately asked.

Also panting, "It's Appa..... accident" Kyung Mi can't talk properly as tears starting to be visible. She didn't wait for Camila to answer, she grabbed her arm and started to run again. Camila didn't know what exactly happened she just ran along with Kyung Mi. After they reached the outside part of the school a cab stopped at them and her aunt opened the door, "Hop in! Hurry!".

They arrived at the hospital in 10 minutes. They went straight to the reception and asked where Kyung Mi's father is.

The next day.

It was a roller coaster ride. The feeling of blankness ate Kyung Mi up. She couldn't think. Everything's blurry. Her mind is not working at all. She kept wishing all are but a dream. She's sitting at the corner side of the hall where all the corona flowers are lined up. She won't dare getting near her father's remains. Her aunt is the one accommodating friends and relatives. Kyung Mi just can't move. Her father arrived at the hospital yesterday already dead. When they arrived, the doctors are still trying to revive him but the doctor called the time of death at 3:13pm. The cause of his death is heart attack. Probably because of fatigue and lack of nutrition. Camila sitting beside Kyung Mi.

"Please say something..." Camilia begged. Kyung Mi's not talking or even saying anything at all from the moment of his father's death. Words are stuck in her. Camila sighed.

"You were always like this Joselin. On your last life years ago, when you're father also died you didn't cry but you also didn't talk". Kyung Mi slowly looked at her. Wanting to say something, but just couldn't.

"It took you months to recover but after that, you said to me there's no point on saying anything. Words won't get your father back so why talk? why cry?"

"See. You're still the Joselin I know. You're still you." Camila smiled. "I mean, you're still you so you can get through with this just like before. Don't worry, everything's gonna be fine." she added and put her arms around Kyung Mi.
