Chapter 16 |
Kicked out
Urgh!
I said. "Male-late kayo mga gago!"
"Papunta na, papunta na kalma!" Nagmamadaling sabi ni Colleen.
"Almost finished, I swear!" Yeshua promised.
Narinig ko ang malulutong na mura ni Radleigh mula sa kabilang linya, "Just give us a second!"
"Gago wala ng segundo malelate na kayo!" I groaned.
"Yes, we do!" Sabay nilang tatlong sabi.
"No, we don't!" I retorted back, "Come on you guys! The movie is about to start!"
It was Sunday afternoon, nakauwi narin ako sa bahay namin nung isang araw pa.
And today? The three and I planned to watch a movie. I missed them too!
"I'm not buying everything," Colleen said, feeling the eye roll in his voice. "Radleigh is."
"Always a pleasure, Colleen," Radleigh told him. "Always a pleasure."
"Well, are you almost done buying everything?" I demanded, before taking a sip of my soda.
"Almost," Colleen assured. "The cashier is adding it all up."
"Your total is going to be 5,014 pesos," Someone said cheerfully from the background.
Halos mabilaukan ako sa narinig. "Ano? Colleen, tell me you did not just spent a 5000 pesos worth of snacks for this movie."
"Well, technically, with tax it would be at least—how much is it with the tax?" There was a slight pause until he answered. "It would be actually a total of 5,274 pesos."
"Colleen..." I growled.
"Okay, okay," He confessed. "It may sound like it's too much. But one, everyone knows that movie food is way overpriced." Okay I had to admit, it is. "And two, we are three full grown boys—"
"Men," Yeshua corrected.
"Nice catch," Colleen said, "Men who will eat as much as we want."
"You want." This time, Radleigh correct him.
"Nice catch," Colleen said again.
"Well," I began, my voice in a deadly whisper. "You three full grown men won't live to eat as much as you want if you don't get your butts to this movie in time."
Colleen chuckled nervously, "You're serious...aren't you?"
"Sobra."
"Uhm, Miss?" Someone called out to me in a hush whisper.
I looked up and saw an usher, about in his late 30s with a thick mustache under his beaked nose. Suot niya ang kanyang usher uniform, the movie theater was slightly dark, not as dark as it will be once the movie starts.
