Jai had a problem.
He couldn't say certain things on face, and most importantly not at the correct moments. Hence he could be lectured quite easily by anybody, according to him, and he would later keep thinking, how he could have told so many things against them but all he did was to remain silent.
Just like how Ms Sonara slammed on his face that Muslims were the highest order of mankind, but were oppressed being a minority. And he couldn't just say a thing.
Such dilemmas would one day take his life. Because when she was telling things confidently, they looked so right. When she left later, thinking deeply about those, almost choked him.
Was there absolutely no reason that he or his father trusted orthodoxy?
He knew of many, but he needed to consolidate them again. Talking to dad would be the best solution.
Jai parked his car at the hospital entrance. He was here to meet Jayant. Another school friend who was now pursuing post graduations in orthopedics in this government hospital.
Jayant had called yesterday after a long gap. Congratulating him on completing MBA. Asking for a grand party. Friends as such! Will be always around with party demands.
Walking through the huge compound, Jai felt good. The government hospitals looked far better these days. The usual picture of a stinking surrounding was nicely erased.
Dialing Jayant's number, Jai got the directions to the Orthopedics department and reached directly to the chamber where he sat.
Jayant was a charmer, a chirpy talkative fellow, a perfect doctor material. Jai entered and took seat on an extra chair beside him.
" Goodness me!! What crowd outside!! I almost fainted!! " , he exclaimed.
True enough. The queue just outside Jayant's chamber looked ten kilometers long. Imagine similar queues before all the small chambers around the waiting area.
Jayant smiled back. He was checking a baby. Signing some medicines and taking off his stethoscope, he gestured the attendant to make the next patient wait.
" Haha! Darling, government hospital. Free checkup. Where else do you expect crowds? "
" Absolutely free!? " , today was Jai's Day of Exclamation.
" No. 2 rupees per visit. " , he grinned.
" Don't joke. " , Jai rolled his eyes.
Jayant showed a medical card lying nearby.
" My goodness!! How do you get paid then? " , Jai asked like a kid.
" Why? From the taxes you huge business personnels pay! " , Jayant chuckled. " Had you people not cheated and payed the whole tax, we would get a bit more. " , he added laughing out loud.
Jai sat a bit embarrassed. Jayant called for two coffees.
" You can continue the checkups. I'll enjoy actually. " , Jai said.
" You sure? But before that, what are you planning to do now? Into the business already? Or Maya Raichand isn't leaving an inch yet? " , he grinned again.
Jayant was disturbingly straight forward. Jai knew, but liked him more for that actually. At least he didn't think twice before speaking, unlike himself mostly.
" No. She's tired actually. Wants me to join. But I'm lazy. "
" Bluffs bro! No sibling likes to move aside leaving even an inch. " , Jayant twisted his lips. And called out loud,
" Next??? "
