Ayaan sat numb on a long bench in a secluded corner of the huge lounge, where the medical tests were going on.

His was not very extensive, flying as a hobby required only a class two medical certificate. They had taken some blood samples and asked some simple questions.

The aptitude test was in the afternoon. He would go home, freshen up and return.

However, amongst everything, there was a melancholy, and a touch of something, he really couldn't make out.

Time and again, to his utter surprise, he looked around for the man....the man he was supposed to hate to the fullest extent. Why even? Would he be satisfied enough if he looked over the procedures concerning him, when the Dean never actually did that?
Did he really need a special treatment from him, for being his son?
Hadn't he proudly declared to Humaira, and his mother, just the previous day, that he needed nothing from his father? Most importantly, who wasn't even his legitimate....

Ayaan closed his eyes. If he thought so much about the man, how would he prevent his mother from entangling herself in this strange web?
Good that the man didn't show up today.
He shouldn't.

And the very next moment, his morale broke into thousand pieces, when he found Jai Prakash Raichand slowly settle on the same bench, keeping a distance.

He was dressed in a blue cotton shirt, shredded jeans, and glares that he slowly took off.

Ayaan looked away. He was not prepared for any sort of conversation with this person at this time. But he knew, he couldn't get up and leave the place either.

Jai cleared his throat. While Ayaan kept staring firmly at the ground.

" Will you train under me if I wish doing that for you? "

Ayaan knew he was staring at him.
He didn't look up, but his insides suddenly churned.

He took sometime.
Then uttered strongly...

" No. "

Jai remained silent. Ayaan glimpsed at him through the corner of his eyes. He was still staring in his direction.

" I can train you with utmost perfection. Also, if you wish to be a commercial pilot.... I would... " , he said again after sometime.

" I don't need a favour from you, Mr Raichand. " , Ayaan now looked at him.

However, his sad pair of eyes rended his heart. And he broke the eye contact again.

Jai heaved a huge sigh.
" I....know you bear complaints against me...
But....won't you hear my side even once? "

Ayaan shut his eyes again, trying to gather strength. This man was captivating, did not emit any negative vibe, and most importantly, was his father..

" I don't want to fall weak to you.
Because if I do, I cannot take Maa back with me. " , he stated.

Jai kept staring at his firm demeanor, however, he knew, he was soft on the insides. Very soft.

" Why do you wish to leave again, Ayaan? Don't I deserve you and your mother? "

His voice had such an immense plead, that Ayaan shot a glance at him. And immediately realised that his eyes would well up if he did not look away.

" No. You don't deserve my mother. Otherwise, she wouldn't have to leave back then."

" Did she tell you that? " , his voice emitted tremendous hurt.

Ayaan scratched his leg.
" No.
She has always and always taken your side. She has always blamed herself for leaving you. But, I know.

You were the one to leave her behind.
Why hadn't you taken her along, to the hospital, that night?
Didn't your action scream enough, to hold her guilty of everything? "
