part seventy nine

" Jai and Sonara are here, I believe. " , Maya uttered.

Som nodded briskly. Maya walked past him immediately.

Jai stood up, seeing his sister storm in. So did Sonara.

Maya halted. A pin drop silence prevailed in the area, when both sides as if waited for the unpredictable.

Jai couldn't read his sister, yet again. Would she thrash him for a decision taken in haste? 
He never knew. Her cold eyes however didn't seem a good news.

And Sonara held her breath.
Would she blame her for a shattering family?
She never knew. However, she had faith in Allah. He had always been on her side in the worst.

" What have you done Jai?
Do you have any idea what you have done? ", Maya hissed.

Jai grew stern.
" I did what I thought was the best for me and her. "

Maya fell silent again.
But this time, she moved straight upto him.....

......and hugged him.

She whispered,
" I'm proud of you my boy. You did it. You finally did it. In the best possible way. "

A storm that seemed to be brewing inside the room, subsided. In a moment.
Smiles appeared on Som's face.

And drops escaped Sonara's eyes, one after the other. Her chest that had suddenly started bearing a stone, felt as if ready to inhale gallons of air again.

Maya pulled down the forehead of her smiling, tall brother and placed a kiss.
" A rebellion, was needed.
How wrong I was.....to have always judged you to be an easy, mainstream chap. I don't even have the face to ask for an apology.
You are a rebel, my brother.
The Rebel Star!!! "

Jai blushed. She held his hands.
" My little brother, I've heard everything from Mom. And I too believe, Raghav Raichand's ego will shrink, hardly in a month.
He loves you, he loves us. There's no doubt about that.
It's only that, we have never actually gone against him till date, faced him, and questioned him to this extent.

You did it. You succeeded big time. And I'm with you. I always will be.

Just that, don't leave Rangruchi. It's yours, as much as its mine or Dad's. "

Jai pressed back her hand.
" Please don't ask me to do that Di! Please..
If you have called me a rebel, let me pursue it to its truest form. He clearly denied me things that belong to my name, at least for now. I need to respect that owing to my own self respect. "

Maya slowly smiled.
" I hardly have anything to say after that. You have the best of friends. But I can arrange everything you need right now. A place to dwell, a job in any other company. "

" No Di! My buddies are doing it. Your mental presence is enough. I don't want that your stay in that house for the time being, gets miserable again. " , Jai assured her.

" You really think my stay there could get any worse? After what I had dealt with someday....
Anyways. I won't insist... if you don't prefer help from any of the Raichands. "

"It's not what you think Di.... It's just... "

Maya stopped him.
" I'm not complaining Jai! Instead, I'm super proud of you.... "

She looked at Sonara now.

And faintly smiled,
" Take care of my brother. Give him utmost love and respect. He deserves every bit of it. "

Sonara, suddenly, couldn't contain the emotions that kept forming bundles in her entire soul.
Out of the blue, most unexpectedly and abruptly, she ran and hugged Maya Raichand, sobbing immensely.
