" Don't worry Sonara, you have your job intact. The shop is closed for Dussehra these days, I'm here for some work. You join from the day after tomorrow. " , Mr Shergil's voice seemed extremely reassuring.

" Thank you so much sir. I don't know how I would convey my gratitude towards... "

" Never mind. If a man doesn't stand for a man, who will?

Maya and Jai are very good people, listen to my advice and stay at their place for sometime now. Because it's the safest place. If you are questioned by self respect or sorts, talk to them about paying an amount. Even if as a paying guest, stay at their house. "

Sonara dropped the call with a very good heart. She thanked Allah that the amount of good people were never less than the amount of bad people in her life.

It was indeed a good idea of staying at this place as a paying guest, though she could never pay the amount this place deserved. Anyways, she might talk to Jai before this weekend. And decide otherwise from the next week.

Jai and Maya were nowhere to be seen after breakfast.

Sonara walked upto the gardens and stood in the middle of the extremely fragrant and colorful flowers.

Feeling contented.

Today was Durga Navami.
The only Hindu Goddess Sonara had ever wanted to know of.

The goddess of woman empowerment....

______

Eleven in the night.

Sonara slowly walked upto the cubicle at the corner of the lounge that was lit. She stood before the smoked glass door, hesitating to knock.

Finally she did.

" Come in Sonara! Any worries? " Maya welcomed her.

Sonara slowly took seat on the chair in front of the desk she was working on.

" No worries, I'm very well. But something's bothering me since morning, so I'm here this late. "

Maya quietly stared on.

" The sevai....did it emotionally affect you in any way? "

Maya smiled.

" It affected my taste buds.

You're a smart woman Sonara. And a great cook too. You literally deserve a life much better than this. "

She looked at her laptop screen again.

Sonara realised she was interfering into zones she hardly had admission to.

She got up.

" Okay, good night ma'am. "

Maya looked back at her.

" Yeah. Good night. "

The walk from the cubicle to her room was literally hurting. She felt, she was slowly forgetting her limits and trying to unnecessarily mingle with people who were only sympathising with her. Nothing else.

____

The knock on the door early morning startled Sonara. She had just freshened up, taken a shower and was getting Humaira ready for the same.

She opened the door and found Jai standing with a smile.

Sonara couldn't help smiling widely. She couldn't bear a grudge against the Raichands for long these days, she realised. Though Maya's behaviour did hurt her, she had consoled herself, that an introvert soul like Maya could never open up so easily to anyone.
