Since they left, Jai had talked to his mom just twice. He only regularly replied to her texts. He still couldn't accept the fact that even she had left without informing. Yet, he could hardly ignore her concerned messages because of her hypertensive disorders.

But today, sitting on the bed covered with a blanket, in the air conditioned room chilling him to the core... yet he not willing to warm it down a bit, Jai picked up the phone...staring at the rains through the wall-to-wall window beside him.

It was eleven thirty in the morning. Last night's wine still ringed it's presence through a mild headache that shot from the right side of his head. The weather outside was so cloudy and rainy that it didn't vibe being a morning.

He dialed his mom's number.

After just two rings the call went answered.

" Jai!!! I was just thinking of you my darling! How overwhelmed I am that you called! "

Suddenly, the motherly concern rummaged through his heart and churned out heavy emotions that tried to burst through his eyes and throat. But he controlled after a vigorous effort.

" Jai....? "

" Hi Mom! Just thought if I could talk to you for sometime. "

" Darling! You've got no idea how much relieved I feel right now. I hardly sleep here because I don't get to hear your voice. "

" Then why don't you come back? " , Jai knew his voice trembled, and prayed she didn't realize.

" We will. Soon. "

" Stop pretending Mom. You don't even know when you're returning. "

Siddhi remained silent. Jai was right. Raghav was too good in London now, happy and settled, he showed no wish to return any sooner.

" Jai, do you want us to return as soon as possible? I'll talk to your dad then. I know he'll be happy to hear it from you. "

Jai suddenly stiffened.

Sonara's face flashed before his eyes. But in the very next moment, it crumpled to pieces.

Sonara was anyway leaving....getting married and getting away from him....forever....

" Yes mom. Talk to dad. And return. I feel lonely..... "

He dropped the call before his mother realised the impending flood down his eyes.

Jai threw the phone away.

Som....Bhoomi.... Jayant..... Mitrah...

Everyone drifted apart.

Not that they didn't call, but Jai ignored them.

Why even? Where was he heading to? What did he get, finally?

The rains increased in intensity. Beating against the window panes.

Jai picked up the intercom.

" I'm up. Can someone serve me tea at the bed? "

The door was knocked twice and then the lock twisted open. Jai looked in the direction.
Samson came in. With a trolley full of food stuffs.

Jai frowned.
" I only asked for some tea. Nothing else. Take these away. "

Samson nodded and walked away after placing the tea on the bedside table.
Nandini came in.

Jai slowly removed his blanket and got down.
He threw a disturbed glance at Nandini.
