I woke up quiet again. Combing my hair and looking at the mirror was the first thing I do. "Just an ordinary day!" I thought. I am afraid maybe mom and dad were silent towards each other again. I grumpily walked down the stairs to see them talk and laugh at each other.
"Janice? Come and eat with us." Dad said offering me a tuna sandwich.
"Wait. Is this a dream?" I slapped my cheek.
"Janice! Of course, not. Sit down." Mom said while chewing.
"God answered my prayers." I told them. "You know what? Yesterday, I was about to read another example but then Ms. Kitty told me to use but in a sentence."
"What sentence did you make?" Mom asked.
"I don't know really, mom. I just asked the Lord and the words came out of my mouth." I explained. "I thought my teacher would be really irritated but she thanked me."
"There! You got it! But she thanked me." Dad laughed.
"Yeah, dad, I don't know." I said, still overwhelmed.
"Yes, Janice. Even simple things, God cares." Dad smiled at me and told me to finish my sandwich.
"Dad, mom, how about you?" I asked. They looked at each other and looked at me. And looked at each other again until mom spoke up. "Your dad made the first move. Could you tell her?"
"I was driving down the streets around here with my hot head of course, and I saw a family laughing while having a picnic at the park. It seems like they enjoy each other and I imagined us enjoying the same way they did. Maybe God showed me this scenario. I turned my steering wheel and asked God for forgiveness. I knew I was wrong and I gave your mom a peace offering." He explained.
What could it be? Dad is so sweet.
"A rose if you would ask." Dad pointed the rose in the blue vase near the picture frame of us together.
"Yeah, and I didn't really expect that. But for me, I just waited. I know something good will happen if you wait so really. Something good happened." Mom grinned. "Let us not forget to thank God for this!"
"Of course." I didn't expect this but dad and I said it at the same time. Jinx!
