At school, Mrs. Kelly's lecture for today is about current events that happens in our world today and how it relates to Christianity. Sitting in the front, her face gave a serious look as she showed us pictures of the threat of the nuclear attacks back in history and what she thinks would happen if North Korea's Kim Jong Un would impose threat on the United States and the world.
While watching a clip about the latest news on this topic, most of my classmates seems have no interest at all. Some would listen and close their eyes after closing the lights to watch the five minute news clip. To be honest, I never cared about these stuff, like my classmates, I would choose to watch the latest movies or series, but when I saw Mrs. Kelly on how serious she is on this topic, there was a feeling inside of me that I have to listen. To listen to her and what God is saying.
I know God hates war because he promotes love. God is love himself. I understand how serious this can be. I asked Mrs. Kelly after class on what she thinks about it.
Mrs. Kelly?
-Oh, Janice! What are you up to.
I may just have one question about your lecture a while ago.
-What is your question, dear?
I stared at her pupils and looked serious. "Why is the world in serious mode, I mean serious in war when God says love?"
Mrs. Kelly bent over and answered me back, "My dear, that is one serious question. We cannot understand the world because it is bombarded now with so much pleasures which some would want to take advantage of. They long for money, fame, supremacy, instant gratification, and etc. They sometimes have no time to see and hear God."
Mrs. Kelly motioned that she needs to go to a meeting and she decided to stop this interesting conversation. I cannot have all the time of Mrs. Kelly, I know. I went to the same place where my mom would fetch me and I wore my headphones as I watch the usual soccer practice of guys. "What can I do to help?" I thought.
I started asking God the same question. God responded quickly with the same but short answer. "Because they are blinded by this world." I chilled a little bit on a sunny day. Well, I mean, goosebumps. And when this happens, I know that there is something happening which I cannot explain. My science teacher once taught me that goosebumps are like reflexes or responses when your body senses something. It is true. I can sense something. Something indescribable. Not a feeling but a presence.
Or maybe my brain is just thinking about a thought that would trigger me to response like this.
