It was the usual day at school when Ms. Kitty gave us exercises about Algebra. This might be graded exercises so I tried my best to solve everything I could. Molly and Holly were looking at each other papers which made Ms. Kitty sit in between of them and in front of me. To be honest, this is quite easy for me because Mr. John has taught me some of the fastest technique in rationalizing.
"Teacher, I-I'm having a hard time." Molly said to Ms. Kitty.
"Just try to finish it." Ms. Kitty said in calm voice.
"Ms. Kitty," I interrupted. "Can I teach him since I am now finished?"
When Holly heard it, she raised her hand. "Me too."
Ms. Kitty looked at me with a face that says "No, sit down!" so I sat. "Let them try on their own!"
Okay, so maybe I'll help Will. As look at him, he is drawing faces of people at the back of his notebook. He really is a good sketcher. "Will, do you need help?"
"No, thanks but I'm finished."
Okay. So, Pia. But I saw that another teacher was helping her already.
Why is it that Ms. Kitty does not want me to help Molly or Holly? Is she trying to let them work their brains out without any guidance? Can they do that on their own?
I boldly asked again. "Ms. Kitty, I think they are having a hard time. Can I help one of them?"
"I know you wanted to help but I am here. I can handle this." She said smiling.
"But Ms. Ki- -
"Yes, Janice. You can help them. They need to learn to do things on their own and besides I am here for them."
She paused for a while. "I know what I'm doing."
Ms. Kitty is not fair. She lets them to do things on their own. I can see that they are having a hard time but why does she just sit there and watch?
I suddenly felt a voice was speaking to me. "Janice."
Me: God?
God: Look at the bright side.
Me: What is the bright side?
There was no answer. Until my mind repeated Ms. Kitty's words, "Learn to do things on their own."
Is God telling me something? For sure, yes.
After the class, I read from my Bible app while waiting for my dad. After a few minutes, I noticed a man waving his hand at the other side of the street. I fixed my bag and went to cross the street when suddenly a car quickly pass by infront of me which made me stumble in the middle of the road. I was still in shock because it happened so fast and I saw dad helping me get up. "That man is absolutely out of his mind!"
"Are you okay?"
"It's fine. I'm just shocked."
"That car almost hit you! Thanks be to God that you are not hurt."
I remembered my dream. I told God what happened in my dream that it has similar happening on what happened a while ago. "I believe God would not let that happen to His daughter." Dad was shocked but thankful.
I don't know, I think God is telling me something. Maybe something like do things on my own? Be independent? What? No. What? Suddenly, Ms. Kitty's words replayed in my head again but in a deep, male voice. I voice I heard before. "They need to learn to do things on their own and besides I am here for them."
I started to think who it may be. Then, I heard it again. "You have to learn to do things on your own but always remember that I am here for you."
Wow! That struck me! I know it was you, Lord. Nobody but you, my Saviour.
