I woke up with my dad and mom arguing. Not a good morning to start to but I expected this will happen.

"So what now? A school different from her abilities?" Dad standing and his loud voice echoing beyond the house.

"Joseph, please. I have been so good to her. Let her grow up." Mom said in a calm voice while sitting on the couch.

"Grow up? Where? In the school where the students are—

I suddenly interrupted. "Dad, it is okay. I can learn there."

Dad looked at me and sat on the chair. He looked at mom and asked her. "Why did you not consult me?"

"I'm sorry but—

"That's the problem! Buts! Buts!"

"Joseph, you have to learn to listen. I have my own struggles too."

I hugged mom and asked dad if he could just close his mouth and listen for a while. I have seen mom crying every night and I understood her. It is not easy to look after me and dad both at the same time.

But dad having a hot head right now, I advised mom to just let him cool down. He jumped into his car and maybe drove around to cool his head. Mom cried a tear and I wiped it.

"Mom, you are so good to us. Don't cry." I said as I hugged her.

"Thank you Lord, He gave me a girl like you." My mom tapped my head.

Oh yeah. When was the last time I thanked my mother. For all the sacrifices she had done for us. When was the last time I said thank you? Weeks ago?

"Hey, mom!" I was about to go upstairs but I turned around.

"Yes?" she was preparing to fix the food on the table.

"If you need help?" I told her that I am volunteering to wash the dishes.

"Oh, okay." She smiled. "You could uhm start now?"

"Sure! But thank you mom." I hugged her again. "You are God's gift to me!"
