BREAKING: CONFIRMED CASTING CHOICE FOR THE AVENGERS

After much speculation, Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige has finally revealed the identity of the actress who will portray Angrboda in the very anticipated movie The Avengers, set to be released next year.

In a surprising public announcement, Feige revealed that 39-year-old Australian actress, Lana Mackenzie, would be the new face of the beloved character. The actress herself later posted a photo of the comics depiction of Angrboda on her official instagram page. The post held the caption:

❝ very honoured and excited to be portraying Angrboda the #Harpy in Marvel's upcoming movie The Avengers!! Expect a little makeover from the comics version tho #Marvel #Comics #Avengers ❞

The announcement was met with some enthusiasm but also many raised eyebrows. The choice of Mackenzie to portray a character as beloved as The Harpy is quite unexpected considering the actress' notoriously unpredictable performances.

The past few years have been a rough patch in Lana Mackenzie's career. After many critically acclaimed performances such as the psychological thriller Highways and the City Lights franchise, Mackenzie has been on a streak of bad performances which concluded in an average secondary role in the legal drama How to Get Away with Murder.

With her good performances now so few and far apart, fans are understandably concerned about Marvel Studios' controversial casting choice. Many have taken to social media platforms to voice their outrage.
