So, welcome to a fictional book. Therefore, anything...can happen.

CHERYL's POINT OF VIEW

A new start. 2 weeks later.

Tonight, Shemar invited Tony and I to come to his party. It was basically a party to celebrate his career getting higher and of course I was one of the first people he told. I knew that he would have a few of his new and old friends over and I was actually pretty excited about getting out of the house, putting work aside and having fun. Tony surprisingly came along- at first he wanted to stay home with the kids but instead, we took them over my Mom's house and came to support Shemar.

—————

"Hey, Cheryl!" Lorah said as she came over towards me and gave me a hug once I entered the house. There were only about 20 people here- small but big in conversation.

"Hey, gurl!" I said as I hugged her.

Tony stood there looking around and waited for Lorah and I to stop having our moment.

"Shemar has been looking for you. However, he's over there talking to all of his friends. I'll let him know that you're here. You know him- his best friend is important to him." She said as she touched my arm and then started to walk away.

I turned to look at Tony.

"When did the two of you start liking each other?" He asked as he grabbed my hand.

"Long story. Come on. Let's go over there with everybody else." I said as we started to walk. "You look nice tonight husband, just wanted to let you know that." I said as I smiled at him.

"Well, yah know- I try." He said as he continued to look at everybody whom were engaging in conversation

Shemar noticed me from across the room- he smiled, waved and winked at me. I smiled back at him.

"Attention everybody!" Shemar said unexpected. He then stood up and reached out to Lorah. "My soon to be wife is very happy that you guys are here. This celebration is the best and I couldn't be any happier. My life is good." He said as he held Lorah's hand and smiled at her. He then took off his sunglasses and looked around at everybody.

Tony pulled me closer to him and we all continued to give Shemar our undivided attention.

"My wife...I might as well say since the wedding is soon, put this event together and I just wanna say thank you, baby. You're the best woman in the entire world and I don't think that any other woman could compare to you. You love me and you're always there for me. You're like another best friend and without you- I wouldn't be the happiest man alive right now. I love you more than anything and anyone in this world. Well, you and my Momma but- I love you baby. Just so that everybody in this room knows- this woman has my complete heart. I love you." He said as he put his drink down and started to kiss Lorah.

I started to get sick to my stomach. All because of the words he said and the way he was tonguing her down right in front of me...in front of everybody. I saw the look in his eyes when he talked to Lorah- he meant it all.

Ugh, I was invited just to get my feelings hurt.

"I-...I'll be back." I said as I looked at Tony and started to turn around.

"You-...you okay? You don't look so good." Tony said as he grabbed my hand quickly.

"I'm fine, baby. I just need to get some fresh air or something. Plus, I just need to check on my makeup....stuff like that." I said as I forced a small smile and let go of his hand. He nodded his head and watched me walk away. I went up to Shemar's room- away from everybody to go to the bathroom. Downstairs was too busy and people were everywhere probably being nosey.
