SHEMAR's POINT OF VIEW
Senior year;
"Yo Shemar, where's Cheryl? She's gonna be late?" Marcus asked me as he leaned over towards my desk."I don't know man. She should be here soon. You're always askin' about her...why?" I asked him as I slouched down in my seat and tapped my pencil on the desk.
"I'm just saying. Your best friend is always late." He said as he shrugged his shoulders.
"She'll be here." I assured him.
I looked at the desk next to mines and saw that it was empty.
Where is this girl at?
Once I looked over towards the door, I saw her finally appear in the classroom. The late bell then went off.
I watched her as she made her way down the isle and sat down in her desk.
"Damn. You almost didn't make it." I said as I looked at her and smiled.
"Hi to you too, Shemar." She said as she took off her backpack, opened it and then took out a pencil and a notebook.
"Hi, Peps." I said as I continued to smile. "Marcus over here was just asking about you." I said as I shot him a look.
"No-....no, I wasn't." He said in a nervous, shaky voice. He then turned his face and acted as if he didn't want to talk anymore.
Cheryl looked at him, lightly shook her head and laughed.
"He likes you." I mouthed to her.
"No, thank you." She mouthed back. I laughed.
"So, you coming over my house after school? Semester exams are coming up and you already know that you're the only person who can get my to study. It's been that way since we were kids." I told her as I then took my notebook out of my backpack as well.
"It's senior year and you still can't fuckin' study on your own." She whispered as she then started to pay attention to the teacher.
"My best friend is always supposed to help me. Not my fault that you volunteered every time I needed help." I said as I shrugged my shoulders and started to write down what was on the board.
